MRS. RUTH NAOMI HARDEN MERRITT EVANS
Mrs. Ruth Naomi Harden Merritt Evans of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
A homegoing celebration will be conducted Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11 a. m. at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1207 N. Jef- ferson Street, Reverend Oscar Johnson, pastor emer- itus, Stanley Foster, presid- ing with Elder Joseph Gloster, eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans was a native of Okeechobee, FL, and a resi- dent of Tampa for many years. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God In Christ, Tampa, until her health began to fail. She was a graduate of Middleton High School and continued her education at Brewster Vo-Technical School and Hillsborough Community College.
She enjoyed an extensive career with Del-Monte for many years; St. Matthew Daycare; taught at Meacham Headstart Program; hairstyl- ist and Hillsborough County Summer Lunch Program.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. Jesse and Mrs. Lula Mae Harden; brothers, Mr. Ernest Harden and wife, Annabell, Mr. Robert Harden and wife, Annie Pearl, and Mr. John David Harden; and her sis- ters, Mrs. Elnora Jennings and husband, Dave, and Mrs. Lillie Mae Green.
She leaves to cherish lov- ing memories of her: her de- voted husband, Otis Evans, Sr.; sister, Mrs. Julia M. White; sons, Derome Mer- ritt, Otis Evans, II (Lauren), and Sherrard Evans (Mesha); daughters, Ghibli Maria Merritt, Debbie Twan Reynolds-Singleton (Robert), Andra D. Carter, Melika G. MS. SUBRENIA D. STEWART
Ms. Subrenia D. Stewart of Tampa, passed away Satur- day, March 26, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 2 p. m. at Peace Pro- gressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2607 E. 24th Av- enue, with Reverend Albert Gallmon, Jr. pastor, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Stewart was a native of Louisville, Georgia, and a resident of Tampa for more than 25 years. She was em- ployed as a Home Health Aide for 15 years.
She leaves: two beautiful children behind to cherish her memories, Queen B. Pe- terkin and Brenton L. Briscoe; two loving sisters, Johnnie Mae Campbell and Rose Ann Pryor; brother, Atlas Daniels; devoted friends, Ms. Logan Harriet, Mrs. Jackie Daniels, Ms. Maggie and Ms. Junita; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving rela- tives and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m., Friday, April 1 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Av- enue.

MR. DON ALBERT GAMBRELL
Mr. Don Albert Gambrell, 76, of Tampa, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Melech Hospice House.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11 a. m. at Bethel A. M. E. Church, 5001 Cumber- land Drive, with Reverend Bobby L. Jacobs, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Don A. Gambrell was a na- tive of Tampa, where he spent most of his childhood days before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served from 1956-1960.
In 1960, he relocated to New York City and began working for the New York City Transit Authority as a train engineer.
In 1990, after 25 years of working for the New York Transit Authority, he re- tired and relocated to Fayet- teville, NC. While in Fayetteville, he worked for Fayetteville State University for 12 years as head of the maintenance department and retired in 2002.
Don and his wife of 54 years, Frankie, decided to migrate back to his native town Tampa, to live out the rest of their days.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Frankie Gam- brell (2016); his daughters, Velita Gambrell (1998), and Vardrena Gambrell Jones (2015); along with his par- ents, Roscoe and Alma A. Gambrell; and his siblings, Robert Gambrell, Linda Gambrell, Betty Fennell and El-Marvin Gambrell.
He is survived by: four children, Vincent Gambrell, of New York, Viazadora Gambrell Crawford, of Tampa, Gerrick Gambrell, of New York, and Vernetta Gambrell Shaw of Tampa; and six siblings, Roscoe Gambrell, Jr., Chris Gam- brell, Carlton Gambrell, Bar- bara Edmonds, Rose Pearl Jones Cordell and Brenda Gambrell Hayes.
He is also survived by: 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m., Friday, April 1 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Av- enue.

MRS. VALLECIA ANN SAMPSON
Mrs. Vallecia Ann Samp- son of Tampa, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 2,2016at11a.m.atMount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Avenue, with Dr. B. R. Ful- ton, Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Sampson was a life- long resident of Tampa, and graduated from Plant High School, Class of 1981. She was a member and loved at- tending Mt. Moriah P. B. Church.
Vallecia was a Case worker for Tampa Hillsbor- ough Action Plan - THAP, Inc. and the Tampa AIDS Network.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wal- ter Sampson, Sr. and Juanita Sampson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and de- voted husband of 20 years, Fredric Green; daughters, Jennae Sampson, Jaylonda Sampson and Ladiedre Green, all of Tampa; sons, David Fogg, Walter Samp- son (Jazmin), Ethan Samp- son and Kaylin Small, all of Tampa; grandchildren, Marcus Ritter, Tamara Fogg, Walter Sampson, Jr., Jordyn Sampson and Jayda Sampson; father and mother-in-law, Prince and Artrye Green; sisters, Winifred Sampson of Tampa, Velma Harris (Luis) of Texas, and Sara Byers (James) of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Walter Sampson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Reginald Sampson of Seat- tle, WA, and Allen Sampson of Tampa; aunt, Olivia Jack- son of Tampa; sister-in-law, Dierdre Green of Tampa; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Green, Dexter Green, Cedric Green and Timothy Green, all of Tampa; nieces, Vallicia Mouling, Holly Mouling (Lance), Dessa Reid (James), Thomasina Mouling, Tanya Jefferson, Michelle Harris, Michelle Santos (Rickie), and Erin Sampson; nephews, Shannon Byers (Jacquelyn), Reggie Samp- son (Jennifer), and Julian Byers (Dawn); special friends, Yvette Tolbert and Dionne Preston; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

MS. GWENDOLYN RENEE HARVEY
Funeral service for Ms. Gwendolyn Renee Harvey, who passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 1 p. m. at at St. John Pro- gressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 Chipco Street, Tampa, Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., pastor, with Elder Donovan Hendrix, officiating, and Elder Aubrey Kipp of Out- reach Church of Jesus Christ, eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Harvey was preceded in death by: her mother, De- loris Harvey; father, James Simmons; and grand- mother, Lucille Simpson.
She leaves to cherish memories of her with: chil- dren, Calvina Pierce (Jevon Young, Sr.), Tyja Pierce and Ariel Pierce (Jose Ve- lazquez); grandchild, Jevon Young, Jr.; brothers, Elvis Simpson, Danny Harvey and Albert Harvey; sisters, Joyce Simpson and Debo- rah Lewis; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; godsisters, Shena Landrum and Gina Lan- drum; a host of family members from the younger generation, who she consid- ered her nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Ms. Gwendolyn Harvey was born in Tampa, to the parentage of James Sim- mons and Deloris Harvey on November 16, 1969. She spent half of her childhood in Tampa and the other half in Albany, Georgia, where she graduated from West- over High School.
Shortly after graduating from high school she re- turned to Tampa, where she met the father of her chil- dren, Calvin Pierce.
Ms. Harvey was a mem- ber of Outreach Church of Jesus Christ.
There will be a viewing on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 5-8 p. m. at Wilson Fu- neral Home.
Friends are asked to as- semble at the church on Saturday at approximately 12:45 p. m. for the service.
