Janet Jackson Talks About Pending Divorce And Resuming Tour
Jordan Peele will continue to “push the boundaries of sto- rytelling,” with his first-look deal with Universal Pictures.
Under the two-year contract, Peele will continue to create projects through his Monkey- paw Productions imprint, ac- cording to the Hollywood Reporter.
The deal includes a follow-up to Get Out, with a budget five times bigger than the $5 mil-
lion used for his directorial debut. The untitled social thriller will be written, di- rected, and produced by Peele.
“I am thrilled to continue the work we started together on Get Out — pushing the bound- aries of storytelling, not only on the next film but with all of Monkeypaw’s future projects,” the 38-year-old writer-director said in a statement.
Janet Jackson will be back on tour on Sept. 7.
Chris Brown has finally been served by ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
The model-turned-actress was granted permanent legal protection from the Loyal hit- maker in February, after she filed court documents accusing Brown of abusing her and threatening to kill her follow- ing the end of their four-year relationship.
A hearing in the case was originally scheduled for 29 March (17), but it was post- poned until April because Brown had not taken receipt of the official paperwork.
The court hearing in April was also rescheduled for the same reason, but process servers have finally caught up with Brown.

Janet Jackson had some pillow talk for fans on last Monday.
Speaking from her bed in a video, the singer announced the resumption of her re- named world tour and briefly addressed her separation from husband Wissam Al Mana.
There were a few moments of spontaneity, too, such as brother Randy Jackson teasing her off-camera about her weight gain and the singer admonishing him for his re- marks.
But the primary reason for the clip was for Jackson to reconnect with her base. The 50-year-old gushed about her baby son, Eissa, to whom she gave birth in January. And in an effort to “keep it real,” she acknowledged her estrange- ment from Eissa’s dad, Al Mana.
Tickets for the new concerts went on sale May 5. Tickets from Unbreakable will be honored as well, according to Rolling Stone. The revamped North American schedule in- cludes dozens of shows, begin- ning Sept. 7 in Lafayette, Louisiana, and ending Dec. 17 in Atlanta.

Director Antoine Fuqua will turn his passion about the life of Black Panther Fred Hampton into a feature film.
In March, there were a lot of headlines about the exit of longtime Black Entertain- ment Television executive Stephen Hill.
However, the turnover at the Viacom-owned cable net- work also included the dis- missal of Zola Mashariki, the one-time Head of Original Programming at BET.
Mashariki has since filed a lawsuit in California federal court.
She alleges there was bla- tant gender discrimination at the company.

Kanye West Deletes
Prolific filmmaker Antoine Fuqua is turning his passion project into a feature film. It’s being reported that the Train- ing Day director is developing a film about Black Panther leader Fred Hampton.
According to Variety, the untitled Fred Hampton story is based off of Jeffrey Haas’ book The Assassination of Fred Hampton: How the FBI and the Chicago Police Murdered a Black Panther, and was then adapted by
Chris Smith.
Hampton was an outspo-
ken Black Panther and had a large following in his home- town of Chicago. On Dec. 4, 1969, 21-year-old Hampton was shot and killed while lay- ing in bed with his pregnant fi- ancee during a raid performed by Chicago police and the FBI.
Hampton’s death was later ruled a justifiable homicide and his surviving fiancee was awarded $1.85 million in 1982.
