Neighborhood Watch Coordinators Honored At Chief’s Appreciation Program

Each year, the Tampa Police Department hosts its Annual Chief’s Appreciation Program. It is dur- ing this time, that residents are recognized for their contributions to the community.
During the ceremony, an individual from each district’s neighborhood coordinators is chosen as the recipient of the “Outstanding Neighborhood Watch Award.” The event was hosted by Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Chief Eric Ward.
This year, Ms. Fran M. Tate, Jackson Heights

Crime Watch Coordinator, was the recipient of the two awards. She was chosen as the “2015 Outstand- ing Neighborhood Watch Award” for her extraordi- nary leadership, dedication, and service. She was also the recipient of the “David West Activist Award.”
“I am humbled and blessed. I care deeply for Jackson Heights. It is a community full of beautiful people who want to see the community prosper.
“My watch members and I plan to continue to partner with the Tampa Police Department to main- tain safety and prosperity in our community.”

hood Watch Coordinator was also chosen as the re- cipient of “2015 Outstanding Neighborhood Watch Award” for Uniform District I.
In Uniform District II, the “2015 Outstanding Neighborhood Watch Award” was presented to Levi and Ruth Fleming, a husband and wife team. The Flemings are Neighborhood Watch Coor- dinators for the Woodland Terrace Program. They have donated their time and energy to the program for several years.
This was the first program under the leadership of Tampa Police Chief Eric Ward. The evening culminated with dinner.
