Man Linked To Shoe Store Fire During Protests
Police Search For Deadly Hit And Run Driver
    Arrested In New York
A 20-year-old Tampa man surrendered to federal author- ities while in Oswego, New York last week. He appeared in court in the Northern Dis- trict of New York last Friday.
Terrance Lee Hester, Jr., has been charged in con- nection with setting a fire at the Champs Shoe Store, 2381 E. Fowler Avenue.
Hester was charged with the malicious damaging or de- stroying, or attempting to de- stroy, by means of fire or any explosive. He is facing a mini- mum of five years in federal prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
According to the U. S. At- torney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, on May 30 and May 31, a protest near University Mall, 2301 East Fowler Avenue, turned into civil unrest. The crowd looted, and destroyed property.

Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice are searching for the driver of a truck involved in a fatal accident. The accident took place Friday in Key- stone.
According to police, around 10:20 p.m., the truck, which was pulling a boat trailer, was traveling north-
bound on Gunn Highway. The driver made a left turn on Tarpon Springs Highway at the same time a motorcy- cle was traveling southbound on Gunn Highway.
The driver of the motorcy- cle struck the right side of the boat trailer. He was trans- ported to St. Joseph’s Hospi- tal, where he died as a result
of his injuries.
After the collision, the
driver of the truck fled the scene westbound on Tarpon Springs Highway.

damage to the building and the loss of property.
The estimated loss to the building, the Champs Sports Store, and other businesses in the plaza is approximately $1.25 million.
Video footage obtained by investigators revealed that Hester was one of the indi- viduals participating in the civil disturbance, and that he tossed a flaming piece of cloth into the Champs Store through a broken window.
Hester remains in cus- tody and will be returned to Tampa in the near future.
2 Killed, 1 Hurt In Home Invasion
   High School Coach Faces Additional Charges
Two men died and an- other was injured during a home invasion last weekend. The incident took place in Wesley Chapel.
According to police, the homeowner was playing a video game when he heard glass break. He went to inves- tigate and discovered two men inside his home. The unidentified homeowner grabbed his gun and walked toward the laundry room. The man told police that he fired his weapon when he observed a masked man point a weapon at him.
The homeowner fired his weapon again when he ob- served a second masked man.

The two men, who both died as a result of their injuries, have been identified as Luis Casado and Khyle Durham, both 21.
A third man, 19-year-old Jeremiah Tramel, was

wounded and taken to a Tampa hospital. He has since been released.
Tramel was charged with two counts of second-degree homicide and one count of home invasion robbery.
  A 48-year-old high school coach who was arrested last Tuesday is facing additional charges. He is accused of hav- ing a sexual relationship with a former student.
The additional charges against Reginald Lawrence came about after another stu- dent came forward. That stu- dent told police that in 2009, the coach called him/her into his office and closed the door.
The victim said Lawrence pulled his pants down and ex- posed his sexual organ to the student. He is also accused of placing the student’s hand on it.
Lawrence has been charged with battery and ex- posure of sexual organs in that incident.
The charges against Lawrence came about after a former student told police she had sex with Lawrence at his home 6 times in 2016. She has since graduated.

Brother, Sister Charged In Fraud Case

Technical High School. He was also listed as the Head Coach of the school’s Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team.
After receiving the report, detectives developed probable cause and issued a warrant for his arrest. Lawrence was ar- rested and transported to the Hillsborough County Jail. He has since been released on bond.

Police in Kingsland, Geor- gia have arrested a brother and sister in connection with a fraud case. They were taken into custody after the vehicle they were riding in was stopped for speeding.
According to police, the vehicle, driven by David Blakely, was reportedly trav- eling 91 miles per hour in a 60 mile zone. After the vehicle stopped, the arresting officer reportedly said he smelled marijuana and saw a bag con- taining 15 grams in plain view.
Blakely was immediately arrested. During the search of

the vehicle, police also found $7,000 in cash, and several shoe boxes.
The shoe boxes reportedly contained several Visa cards from Arizona that belonged to several people with the same last name.

However, when police ex- amined the cell phone of Markeshia Blakely, they found text images and screen- shots she had sent to her brother seeking instructions. She was also arrested.
