Shooting Victim Found On Street Dies
Gunshot victim was found on the side of the road near Ne- braska Avenue and Lotus Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
Officials Warn School Threats ‘Are No Joke’
      Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting. The incident took place near the intersection of Nebraska Avenue and Lotus Avenue, just north of Busch Blvd.
According to police, at ap- proximately 3:35 p.m., Wednesday, a report of a “man down” was received by the 9-1-1 operators. When of- ficers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man on the side of the road. He appeared
to have been shot.
The unidentified man was
transported to Tampa Gen- eral Hospital, where he later died. A motive for the shoot- ing or a suspect has not been identified in the case.
Police said the shooting does not appear to be ran- dom. However, the investiga- tion remains in its early stages.

On Wednesday, officials in Hillsborough County came together to issue a warning. That warning was “school threats are no joke.”
In a press conference, Hillsborough County School Superintendent Jeff Eakins and School Board members, along with Hillsor- ough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan and FBI Special Agent in Charge Michael McPherson were in attendance at the press conference.

The purpose of the event was to get the word out to students and others in our community to “Think Be- fore You Post.”
Officials said just three weeks into the school year, schools and local law enforce- ment have been dealing with a number of made up school threats.
The threats cause unnec- essary anxiety among stu- dents, parents and the staff.

valuable time and resources from our partners at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Tampa Police De- partment and our School Se- curity division.
Officials said the safety of the students and staff is a top priority and they want every- one to understand it’s not a joke to post threats of any kind against our schools and our students.
The threats are taken seri- ously and could have perma- nent consequences, including arrest.
Three Sought For Breaking Into Cars
Police Search For Bank Robbery Suspect
  Three men are being sought by police for breaking into cars and using victims’ credit cards.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, on August 26th, around 5:30 a.m., three or four unknown suspects entered the Walmart, 1505 N. Dale Mabry Highway. While in the store, the men used credit cards that had been taken from cars during burglaries. Several vehicles have been burglarized in resi- dential communities within the Gunn Highway and Linebaugh Avenue corridor.
The first two suspects are described as Black men, be- tween the ages of 18 and 21, between 5’7” and 5’9” and in the 180 pound weight range.
The third suspect is a white man between 22 and 26

years of age, 5’9” to 6’ tall, and weighing about 175 pounds. The suspects may be driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala or Malibu.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who robbed a local credit union. The robbery took place around 2:30 p.m., Tuesday.

The suspect is described as being between 25 and 32 years of age, approximately 5’7”, with a medium build and shoulder length dreads and a partial beard. He was last seen wearing a bright colored shirt, dark pants, and black shoes.
