Death Of Palm River Man
Tampa Police are investigat- ing a shooting incident Sunday that left a young man with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said 22-year-old Quinton Carrolls was shot at the corner of Hillsborough Avenue and 47th Street. He was transported to a local hos- pital, and police have not re- leased any additional information about the shoot- ing at this time.

According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, burglars have broken into sev- eral cars parked at state parks in Hillsborough County.
The burglaries have occurred in parks near Morris Bridge Road and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, and are still under investigation.
In each vehicle, deputies said windows were smashed, and purses, wallets and other valu- ables were removed. The per- sonal information of the victims was also used to cash checks or withdraw money.

At 12:02 Friday morning, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the Palm River area.
When deputies arrived, they found 46-year-old Marcus Jordan on the sidewalk in front of a home at 8608 Woodridge Road.
Detectives are calling Jor- dan’s death a homicide, and no suspect information has been released at this time.

Deputies Raise Awareness Of 2001 Cold Case
Men Sought On Attempted Murder Charge
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Springtime Club of Clearwater to increase awareness of a cold case murder in 2001.
Marco Waters, 23, was killed February 26, 2001 while sitting with his girlfriend in front of his sister’s apartment at 5401 Colfax Street, in Clear- water.
Deputies said they are confi- dent someone has information that would help solve this case.
Detectives said Waters be- come involved in a struggle with two suspects who ap- proached him and his girl- friend, who was able to get inside the home while Waters was robbed at gunpoint. They

The Temple Terrace Police Department is currently searching for suspects who shot a homeless man. The shooting took place late Thurs- day night.
According to the Temple Terrace Police Department, the shooting took place in a grassy field in the 11000 block of N. 52nd Street. Initially, Tampa Police officers re- sponded to the scene.
Upon their arrival, officers encountered the 59-year-old victim who had suffered gun- shots to his lower abdomen and right arm. The man, who police is not identifying, was transported to a local hospital.
Detectives with the Temple Terrace Police Department re- sponded to the hospital and interviewed the victim before he went into surgery. Detec- tives learned that he was a
transient and was sleeping in a makeshift campsite when he heard two men calling him out.
The victim said the men did not demand anything, and told the victim to go back to sleep. The victim told police that sev- eral shots were fired at him as he attempted to get up.
The victim told police he does not know the men and did not get a good look at them. The victim described the men as being in their 20s. One was possibly wearing a light brown shirt and the other was wearing a dark hooded sweat- shirt.

On Friday, June 19th at 11:17 p. m., deputies responded to a call regarding a loud party where more than 200 people were attending.
While deputies were trying to disperse the participants, an unknown male suspect jumped on top of an unmarked Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Office vehicle that was parked near 13042 Avalon Crest Court in Riverview.
The suspect reportedly began jumping on the roof and caused over $1,000 in damage to the hood and broke the rear win- dow.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for in- formation that leads to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspect who damaged the vehicle.

Brandon Bank Robber Being Sought
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 20th at 12:40 p.m., a man entered the Florida Cen- tral Credit Union at 334 Oak- field Drive, in Brandon. He was wearing a motorcycle hel- met.
The bank manager report- edly asked the man to remove his helmet at which time he pointed a gun at the manager and demanded everybody in- side the bank to get down. The suspect reportedly jumped the teller counter and demanded cash from the tellers, telling them to put the cash into a black duffel bag.
The suspect fled on foot and got into an awaiting vehicle that was being driven by a white female suspect. The ve- hicle was described as a newer model silver 4-door vehicle that had been parked at a nearby hospital. There was a GPS type device mounted on the dash/windshield closest to the driver’s side.
