Fatal Accidents
Hit And Run Driver Fatally Injures Teenager
Investigators are search- ing for a truck involved in a fatal hit and run accident. The accident took place at the intersection of State Road 574 (M. L. King, Jr., Blvd.), and Mott Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 13-year-old Jesus Navarro, of Dover, was walking eastbound on State Road 574, around 7 a.m., Sunday. As he ap- proached Mott Road, Navarro was struck by a ve- hicle. He suffered fatal in- juries and died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene westbound on State Road 574 after the ac- cident.
Police believe the vehicle is a 2012-2016 Ford F250 XL

Motorcycle Rider Dies After Fall
The Florida Highway Pa- trol is investigating an acci- dent that left a man dead. The accident took place early Monday on State Road 618.
According to the investi- gators, Tyler C. Wis- niewski, 21, of Brandon, was driving a 2015 Kawasaki mo- torcycle. His passenger was Taylor A. Liebe, 20, of Tampa.
As the motorcycle traveled westbound on State Road
618, near milepost 11, around 12:06 a.m., Monday, Liebe fell off the motorcycle and collided with a guardrail. He died at the scene.
Officials said the driver’s cell phone died and he went to contact police after the in- cident occurred. No foul play is suspected.
The investigation into the death is continuing and charges are pending, police said.
Woman Killed Walking Across Busy Highway
A 38-year-old Hudson resi- dent was killed in a traffic acci- dent early Saturday morning. The accident took place on Highway 60 and Grand Re- gency Blvd.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Ms. Amanda E. Bruce was walking north- bound across State Road High- way 60 shortly after 5 a.m.
Ms. Rachel Damron, 21, of Riverview, was driving a
2012 Nissan Sentra. Her pas- senger was Ms. Chloe Whit-
field, 21, of Tampa. Investigators said
Ms. Bruce walked into the path of the vehicle. She was trans- ported to an area hospital, where she died as a result of
her injuries.
Neither Ms. Damron nor
Ms. Whitfield was injured. No charges are expected to be filed.
Man found Dead On Interstate
The Florida Highway Pa- trol is investigating the death of a 22-year-old Plant City man. His body was discovered on Interstate 4 by a passing vehicle last Thursday.
According to police, a pass- ing truck driver observed the body of a man laying on the grass shoulder of the interstate and notified authorities.
When troopers arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of McKenzie J. Mes- sick, of Plant City. He died at the scene. The accident took place in Polk County, west of U. S. 98.
Messick had been struck by a passing vehicle as he walked along the roadway. Po- lice said the hit and run vehi- cle will have front end damage. Investigators found parts of the front headlight and turn signal at the scene of the accident. They also discov- ered white paint chips.
