Drive-By Shooting Leaves 4 People Injured

Home Invasion Suspect Taken Into Custody
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is investigating a shoot- ing that left four people injured. The shooting took place in the 400 block of E. Nordica on Saturday.
According to police, on Saturday evening, an un- known type mini-van styled vehicle drove pass a crowd of people and fired several times. The vehicle then drove away.
Individuals injured in the shooting were taken to area hospitals with non-life threat- ening injuries.
The victims have been identified as: Ronnie O’Neil, 29, Anthony Lewis, 28, Ms. Ruby Alexander, 33, and Donnie Miller, 27, all of Tampa.
The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
Robbed
Police have arrested one suspect are currently search- ing for two others in connec- tion with a home invasion. The incident took place last Thursday in Wimauma.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, three men, carrying firearms entered a home on Keene Road, around 1 p.m.
The suspects took several items from the residence and fled the scene. One of the men has been identified as Al- berto Aurelio Martinez, 32, of Tampa.
Martinez was arrested Wednesday at 3615 Petrova Circle, in Ruskin. He was charged with home invasion robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Mar- tinez is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail on a bond of $22,500.

Man Gets 20-Year Sentence In Death Of Toddler

Two people have been ar- rested and charged in connec- tion with an armed robbery. They allegedly met the victim under the pretense of purchas- ing a pair of shoes the victim was selling.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the unidentified victim met Bobby Hernandez, 17, and Jose Figueroa, 25, at 5523 Center Street, in Wimauma. The meeting took place on Sun- day, October 15th, around 7:15 p.m.
The victim told police that while they were discussing the purchase of the shoes, Her- nandez grabbed the victim’s necklace, causing it to break. Hernandez is alleged to have removed the gold cross pendant with diamonds from the neck- lace.
The victim attempted to confront the two men as they were leaving the area in their vehicle. Figueroa is alleged to have pointed a firearm out of the window of the vehicle at the victim and fired three shots. The two men then fled the scene.
Hernandez was located a short time later and taken into custody. He was charged with robbery. Figueroa was ar- rested several days later, and charged with robbery with a firearm, being a felon in posses- sion of a firearm, and discharg- ing a firearm. He was also wanted for aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, tamper- ing with a witness, and two counts of criminal mischief. Those charges were in connec- tion with an unrelated incident that took place in April 2017, police said.

To Sell Shoes
Last Friday, a jury found a Tampa man guilty of the death of a toddler. He was initially charged with first-degree mur- der and aggravated child abuse.
At the time Deandre Gilmore, 34, was arrested on May 12, 2014, police said he was babysitting his girlfriend’s daughter, 17-month-old Myla Pressley.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., Gilmore called 9-1-1 saying the child was unconscious. Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the Sulphur Springs resi- dence and found the child un- responsive on the living room sofa.
The toddler was trans- ported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she later died on May 7, 2014. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her death was caused by blunt force trauma.
Based on the Medical Ex- aminer’s report and witness statements, detectives arrested Gilmore and charged him with her death. He has re-

mained at the Hillsborough County jail since his arrest.
Gilmore told investigators that he had left the child in the bathtub unattended while he went to get clothes and a towel. He said while she was in the bathtub, he heard a loud thump.
The child’s mother, Nayashia Williams, 28, tes- tified during the trial that she had left the child in his care while she went to work.
On Monday, a judge sen- tenced Gilmore to 20 years in prison.
Seven Arrested In Drug Bust
The St. Petersburg Police Department arrested seven people last week during a drug bust. Police served a search warrant at 1835 47th Street, South, last Wednes- day.
Police said the investiga- tion spanned several months and was a known drug house. During the search, police found trafficking amounts of cocaine, fentanyl, MDMA, oxycodone and dilaudid. They also found marijuana, three guns and $12,523 in cash.
Seven individuals, includ- ing a juvenile, were arrested and charged. Michael Joslin, 17, was charged with possession 9of a controlled substance, which is a felony.

Montrell Huell, 23, was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Derek Owens, 29, was charged with 3 counts of traf- ficking in narcotics, posses- sion of marijuana, and resisting arrest without vio- lence.
Quantiz Flowers, 18, was charged with resisting ar- rest without violence.
