  Race For Governor
Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren Endorses Andrew Gillum For Governor
Mayor Gillum Has Slight Edge Over Republican Candidate
A recent poll says that Tallahassee’s Mayor, An- drew Gillum is leading his Republican opponent by 4 points in Florida’s guberna- torial race. In 3 separate polls taken recently, Gillum had a slight edge on Representa- tive Ron DeSantis.
A little more than 500 voters were interviewed in the most recent poll.
The poll also showed a
gender gap. Women sup- ported Gillum’s ticket over DeSantis by 10 points, while men sided with De- Santis over Gillum by 4 points.
And there was a racial di- vision as well.
White voters backed De- Santis over Gillum by 53- 36 percent and non-whites supported Gillum over De- Santis by 64-27 percent.

DGA Donating To Gillum’s Campaign
Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren announced Wednesday that he is en- dorsing Mayor Andrew Gillum for the Governor of the State of Florida.
“Mayor Gillum has a record of making Tallahas- see safer. As Mayor, An- drew Gillum invested in
law enforcement and em- braced criminal justice re- form. His work helped achieve a double-digit drop in crime. Mayor Gillum has the vision, leadership, and integrity to be our Gov- ernor. For a safer and stronger Florida, I stand with Mayor Gillum,” he said.
In sharing how thrilled he is about the endorsement, Mayor Gillum said: “He understands the critical link between smart justice and public safety, and he’s one of our leaders in strengthening and healing communities. I look forward to campaigning with him in Tampa and across Florida.”
The Democratic Gover- nors Association (DGA) is pumping another $1 million into Andrew Gillum’s cam- paign.
The DGA’s latest infusion of cash to a Gillum-run po- litical committee brings the group’s post-primary total to $2 million.
Florida is among a small group of DGA priority races, along with Ohio, Wisconsin and Georgia. Florida is get- ting increased attention as the party sees an opportunity to say it elected the first African-American governor

of Florida, which has long been dominated by Republi- cans at the state level.
