Bob Woodward: ‘People Need To Wake Up’ To What's Happening Under Trump
Veteran journalist Bob Woodward has written about every U. S. president since Richard Nixon — nine in total. But in all his years cover- ing politics, he has never en- countered a president like President Trump.
Woodward's latest work, Fear: Trump in the White House, paints a por- trait of Trump as uninformed and mercurial. The book de- scribes moments when staff members joined together to purposefully block what they believe are the president's most dangerous impulses — sometimes by surreptitiously removing papers from the president's desk.
"There were drafts of a pro- posal to get out of the Paris cli- mate accord that were removed from the president's desk," Woodward says. "(There were) draft statements about withdrawing from the North American Free Trade Agreement — which would

have been a disaster — and (former economic adviser Gary) Cohn just took it off the desk."
Woodward says he was shocked by the lengths to which staff went to circumvent Trump: "I've never heard in any way of staff going around a president this way and taking the paperwork, taking the or- ders in order to stop the ac- tion."
Trump Reportedly Exploded At His Ex-Lawyer
President Donald Trump exploded at his former lawyer John Dowd after reading news reports indicat- ing the special counsel Robert Mueller had subpoenaed records from Deutsche Bank, according to the journalist, Bob Woodward.
Woodward reported on the exchange in his new book, "Fear: Trump in the White House."
Dowd reportedly received assurances from Mueller's team that the subpoena did not directly involve the president.
Woodward wrote in the book, which was obtained by Business Insider ahead of its release, that after learning of the news regarding Mueller and Deutsche Bank,
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP
a primary lender to the presi- dent, a furious Trump phoned Dowd at 7 a.m.
“I know my relationships with Deutsche Bank," Trump reportedly told Dowd, with Woodward writing that the president said the bank loved
him and was always paid back for its loans. “I know what I borrowed, when I borrowed, when I paid it back. I know every godd--- one.”
Woodward wrote that Trump added, “This is bulls--
-!”
Dowd then apparently
spoke with Jim Quarles, a member of Mueller's team who was also an assistant spe- cial prosecutor on the Water- gate investigation.
Dowd repeated Trump's assertion that "this is bulls---." During a conference call, Quarles reportedly said Mueller's team had subpoe- nas issued to Deutsche Bank "way back in the summertime, but it doesn't involve the pres-
ident or his finances."
Omarosa Reminds Everyone That Pence Is Worse Than Trump
While many, many people would love to see Presi- dent Donald Trump leave the White House on the horse he rode in on, scorned WH for- mer aide Omarosa Mani- gault-Newman said VP Mike Pence is even worse.
TMZ caught up with the Unhinged author who doubled down on her hatera- tion against Trump. When asked who she thought was even worse than the petty Twitter tyrant Trump, Mani- gault-Newman yelled out “Pence!”
Omarosa’s sentiments echoed statements she made to Vanity Fair earlier this year when she warned that Pence is not the lesser of two evils.
“Pence has maintained his role as G.O.P. security

blanket, even earning kudos from Democrats who see him as, if not a welcome alternative to Trump, at least someone unlikely to punt the nuclear football in a fit of rage,” she told Vanity Fair earlier this year.
“Can I just say this? As bad as y’all think Trump is, you would be worried about Pence,” she said on an episode of “Big Brother” that aired in February.
Taking Down The Establishment
Omarosa has been on a warpath, dropping a mix of se- cret tapes like she’s an under- ground rap artist. And she reportedly has a treasure trove of videos, and recordings of of- ficials in the Trump Adminis- tration.
But, Omarosa’s 15 min- utes of fame is fading fast as her book sales fall off and dipped more than 40 percent recently. Her book, which de- buted at number one, now is currently number five.
