Second Man Arrested In Palm River Triple Murder

The family of a 53-year- old man has reported him as a missing person. He was last seen in February.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Fred Black left home around noon on February 9th to walk to the barbershop. A barber at Bar- ber’s International, 10509 N. Nebraska Avenue, confirmed that Black had visited the business, gotten his hair cut, and left the shop.
Black has not been seen since that day. He had left his phone at home and the family has no way of contacting him. Black is described as being 5’11 and weighs 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray tank top and blue jeans. Black has a tattoo on his left
Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice have charged a second man in a triple murder. The murder took place on Novem- ber 15th, of last year.
On that date, firemen with the Hillsborough County Fire Department responded to a call at 6221 16th Avenue, South of a fire. The firemen discovered a mobile home in the back of the property on fire.
Once the fire was extin- guished, the firemen located three bodies inside the struc- ture. The deceased were iden- tified as Derek Archie, 31, 28-year-old Xavier Greene, and Ms. Haley Stone, 20, all of Tampa.
Police said the cause of death was a result of upper body trauma.
Last month, detectives ar- rested 23-year-old Ricky Wilkerson, Jr., and charged him with three counts of first-degree murder, armed burglary of a dwelling, and robbery with a firearm. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
At the time of the mur- ders, police obtained video surveillance from the area. The video showed three peo- ple getting out of a white Nis- san Altima. The cameras also captured a gray Infiniti at the residence. One of the occu- pants set the residence on fire
and fled the scene. Detectives identified that
person as 28-year-old
Xavier Whitehead. Whitehead was arrested on December 1, 2018, and charged with arson.
Charges against him were upgraded on Wednesday to include three counts of first- degree murder with a weapon, armed burglary of a dwelling, and robbery with a firearm.
Whitehead and Wilk- erson are being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
The investigation is con- tinuing and detectives are searching for a third suspect in the triple murder.

  Man Wanted In
On Sunday afternoon, the Haines City Police Depart- ment investigated a fatal shooting. The shooting took place outside the Family Dis- count Supermarket, known locally as the Cuban Store, 1604 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, about 3:15 p.m.
It stemmed from an inci- dent in which Furious Shell, 26, allegedly stole another man’s wallet inside the store. Shell was con- fronted by both the man and a store employee inside the store.
Devonte Duga, 25, was inside the store at the time and became involved in an argu- ment with Shell. The argu- ment escalated outside the business and Shell is alleged to have threatened Duga with a gun.
Duga attempted to go back inside the business. How- ever, Shell reportedly blocked him and pushed Duga. Shell is alleged to have struck Duga twice in the head with a gun.
At that point, a struggle over the gun took place be- tween Shell and Duga. Dur-

ing the struggle, Duga took the weapon from Shell and fired four times, striking Shell all four times.
Both men were taken to an area hospital. Shell died shortly after 4 p.m. Duga was treated and released for his in- juries.
Chief Jim Elensky said, “This is a truly unfortunate event. Our thoughts are with all of those involved and their families.”
Police further said Duga cooperated throughout the in- vestigation and gave state- ments, including that he was in fear for his life, consistent with witness ac- counts and limited surveillance footage. The in- vestigation is ongoing.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help identify a shoplifting suspect. He is ac- cused of removing $2,092.88 in cigarettes from a local store.
According to police, the man entered the Walmart on March 27th, around 2:15 a.m. He is said to have picked up two large plastic bins from in- side the store. He then went to the front of the store, where he filled both bins with cartons of cigarettes from behind the counter while no one was looking.
The man walked out of the store through the Garden Cen- ter without paying for the cig- arettes. He got into the passenger side of an unknown silver sedan and fled the scene.
He is described as a Black man between th ages of 20 and 30. He was last seen wear-

Deputies are investigating the location where human remains were discovered.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of human re- mains. The remains were dis- covered near 50th Street and 12th Avenue.
According to police, main- tenance workers were clearing debris and landscaping when they discovered the remains around 10:44 a.m., Wednes- day.
Police said the location is deep into private property. No additional information was available at press time and the investigation is continuing.
