Two of the world's best producers, Pharrell Williams and Missy El- liott, are linking again to make beautiful music to- gether!
Last week on Missy’s IG and Twitter accounts, the dy- namic duo posed in the studio for a picture with the caption “VA!2up2down!Me&my fam @Pharrell hard at work.”
The Virginia-bred produc- ers worked together before on Missy's song, “On & On,” from her 2005 album, The Cookbook.
They also collaborated on Skillz’s “Crew Deep (VA Remix)”.

Diddy Is Allegedly Suing ‘Empire’ Creator, Fox
Nick Gordon Talks To Dr. Phil
Bobbi Kristina turned 22 on last Wednesday. She was found face down in a bathtub in her Georgia home on Jan. 31. Police responded to calls of a domestic dis- pute at Bobbi Kristina’s address in the week prior.
Now, Nick Gordon is ready to talk.
After withholding details concerning the events leading up to Bobbi Kristina Brown’s hospital- ization, Gordon sat down with Dr. Phil.
Gordon, who’s been bashing Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, on Twitter, met with the TV shrink last week.
Nick Gordon and Bobbi Kristina and Dr. Phil
Gordon has refused to talk with the police in recent weeks, which has led Bobby to ban him from visiting Bobbi Kristina.
There’s also a criminal in- vestigation with Gordon at the center.
Nick Gordon’s interven- tion with Dr. Phil will air March 11.
Fox's new series Empire has taken the world by storm, having just hit a view- ership high of 14.2 million viewers. But now it looks like hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is coming for them with a lawsuit, claim- ing that the show ripped off the story of his life for the lead character Lucious Lyon, ac- cording to All Hip-Hop.
Diddy has seemingly had it in for the show with reports surfacing last month that he banned his son Quincy from appearing on the series because he would have to sign over the music rights for any songs that ap- pear on the show. However, Quincy is still reportedly being sought after for the show's second season.
It seems a little farfetched for Diddy to think the story was based on him, if reports are true. Yes, he is a hip-hop mogul, but much of the story beyond that doesn't match up.
DIDDY WITH JAY Z
Is one of his sons gay? Did he build his label with drug money? Does he have ALS? Did someone do time for him in jail? Did he kill one of his cronies? By admitting that the story was based on his life, he would be admitting to murder and deceit. Maybe it's just the white parties he's referring to...
The creator of Empire, Danny Strong, actually ac- knowledged the inspiration for the show in a recent interview Sway Calloway, saying it was loosely based on Jay Z, who started off as a crack dealer before finding success as a rapper.
More About Chris Brown’s New Baby
Chris Brown’s reported 9-month-old baby girl’s mother is 31-year-old former model, Nia Amey.
The 9-months old cutie is named Royalty, and she lives with her mom in Texas. The new bundle of joy comes from a fling the Grammy win- ning R&B singer had with Nia in the summer of 2013.
As you may recall, sum- mer 2013 was a turbulent time for Brown, including a seizure, community service sentence, and various law- suits.
CHRIS BROWN AND NIA AMEY
Brown and Nia are said to be on great terms, and he calls her regularly to check on his child. There are no cur- rent child support claims, and “he wants to openly par- ticipate in raising the baby.”
Anika Rose Tapped For CBS Drama With Selma Director At The Helm
Malik Yoba Claims He
Anika Noni Rose has been tapped as the lead in the new CBS legal drama “For Justice” and if that isn’t im- pressive enough, “Selma” di- rector Ava DuVernay is at the helm of the project.
The television show is based on James Patter- son’s debut crime novel “The Thomas Berryman Number.” Rose will star as Special Agent Natalia “Nat” Chap- pel, an FBI agent working in the Criminal Section of the Department of Civil Rights Division. She struggles to bal- ance her radical family with her professional life.
AVA DUVERNAY AND ANIKA ROSE
The new show touches on crimes that were affected by race such as the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases. DuVernay is pulling double duty as she is also writing and directing a new series on OWN “Brown Sugar.”
Was Misquoted About
Jussie Smollett Being Gay
Apparently Malik Yoba had it all wrong re- garding his comments on his “Empire” co-star Jussie Smollett’s sexuality.
The actor responded to chatter on blogs that thought he outted Smollett as he talked about “Empire’s take on the LGBT community.
The following is a state- ment Yoba released to USA Today regarding what he said about Smollett:
“I was misquoted in the article. My reference to Jussie was only about his character and storyline on Empire.”
Yoba’s statement comes amid talk online about Smollett’s real-life sexual orientation. On “Empire,” the entertainer plays Jamal Lyon, a gay singer. Weighing in on the show’s attention to the LGBT community, Yoba said, “So, obviously, Lee (Daniels, co-creator) is gay.
“That was an important storyline for him. I think it’s
Malik Yoba, plays Vernon on Empire and Jussie Smol- lett plays Jamal Lyon.
important for people to see themselves. Even within the Black community. But if you aren’t really, really taking it off of screen and making it live in the community in a significant way ... like I know Jussie, he is gay, and he’s very committed to issues around the LGBT commu- nity. He and I have a very close relationship.”
Don’t be surprised by the negative stories that are going to fly now that Empire has broken all records in viewership.
Let’s hope Malik and Jussie will survive the wind- storm.
Beck’s Dad Worked On One Of Beyonce’s Albums
Long before Kanye West ever forged a link between Beck and Beyoncé, the two had an even less degree of separation.
Reddit user Sitdownyo pointed out that Beck’s fa- ther, David Campbell, worked on Beyonce’s 2006 Grammy-winning “B’Day” album. According to his MTV biography, Campbell specif- ically contributed to the track “Listen.”
As the Toronto Star notes, Campbell is an “arranger, orchestrator, conductor and sometimes session player,” and he’s worked on some of the biggest albums of the last 50 years: Adele’s “21,” Tay- lor Swift’s “Red,” Carole King’s “Tapestry” and
Grammy winner Beck (r) and his dad, David Campbell (l).
Justin Timberlake’s” Fu- tureSex/LoveSounds” (as well as many of his son’s al- bums including “Morning Phase”).
Campbell also played viola during recording ses- sions for Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” and Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me,” among others.
