Former Jets Running Back In Stable Condition After Shooting
‘Operation Not So Lucky’ Lands 5 In Jail For Retail Theft
Former Tennessee Titans and New York Jets running back, Chris Johnson, 29, is reported to be in stable condi- tion after he was shot in the shoulder during a drive-by shooting that occurred 4 a. m. Sunday in Orlando, Florida.
The driver of the vehicle, Dreekius Oricko Johnson, 28, was killed. Chris John- son and Reggie Johnson, 29, were passengers in the ve- hicle. Reggie suffered wounds to the shoulder, hand and leg. He is also reported to be in sta- ble condition.

Deputies said the victims
reported that an unknown ve- hicle pulled up beside them at a red light and opened fire.
Chris Johnson is poised to become a free agent this week. After only one season with the Jets, they declined to exercise an option for 2015.

Last Thursday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office under- cover detectives served three search warrants and arrested five suspects during an Organ- ized Retail Theft Investigation. The investigation has been named, “Operation Not So Lucky.”
Deputies received tips about several businesses buy- ing stolen goods. As part of the investigation, police ap- proached 14 convenience store businesses in Polk County. A total of 9 were located in Lake- land, 2 in Winter Haven, and 3 in the Lake Wales.
The deputies offered to supply the stores with stolen merchandise they had for sale. Only three stores agreed to purchase stolen merchan- dise.
Last Thursday, officials ex- ecuted three search warrants at those locations. During a search at Amir’s Grocery in Lake Wales, detectives located several products including condoms and toothpaste sup- plied in the undercover opera- tion.
During the operation, Mo- hammed Eid, 49, provided the officers with a shopping list of items he would buy. The items were supplied and Eid purchased them.
He was charged with petit theft, dealing in stolen prop- erty, and unlawful possession of personal ID (food stamp as- sistance account number) of 5 or more.
Because of the condition of the store, police notified the Lake Wales Code Enforce-

ment, the Health Department, and Polk County Sheriff’s Of- fice Fraud Unit responded.
Officials seized $1,508 in cash from the store.
Police also executed a search warrant at Leader Dis- count Store in Lake Wales. They found 19 purses there are suspected to be counterfeit. The purses had high end brand name labels and bags of logos were also found. A total of $1,519 was seized from the store.
Brothers Talal H. Samhan, 67, and Marwan Samhan, 65, were arrested and charged him with counter- feit (merchandise) valued at more than $2,500, and petit theft.

Supermarket in Lakeland, they arrested Ashraf Reza, 55, and charged him with petit theft, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property.
Caesar Cleon Pugh, 53, known as “The Meat Man,” was also arrested and charged with grand theft, and dealing in stolen property. After learn- ing that information and prior to executing the search war- rant, undercover detectives had reportedly sold Pugh meat valued at $310 for $55.
During a search of the business, detectives located toothpaste, soap, deodorant, and other items that had al- legedly stolen.
Police also confiscated $22,779 in cash that was lo- cated inside a BMW 525i. They also seized the vehicle.
Police Search For Sex Offender
The Hernando Sheriff’s Of- fice is currently asking for pub- lic assistance to locate a sex offender.
According to police, El- yard Randolph, Jr., 31, was released from the Department of Corrections on February 17th and established his residency in Brooksville. Less than one month later, on March 5th, just before noon, Randolph re- moved his GPS ankle monitor and has not been seen since that date.

Police Investigate Stabbing

St. Petersburg Police report that at 1:56 a. m. Sunday, an argument began inside the Somethin’ Different Night Club, 2420 Central Avenue that involved several people and spilled out into the street.
A witness reported seeing Delorean Feaster, 29, use a knife to stab Alex Earnest,

mediately arrested Feaster and he was charged with at- tempted murder.
Earnest was transported to a local hospital and was re- ported to be in critical condi- tion.
