Chargers Lose After Replay
Bruce Arians Doesn't Consider Week 8's Game Against The Titans A Must-Win
When you are 2-4 like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you’d think it’d be time to hit the panic button, especially after losing back-to-back games to divisional opponents.
But, even though the Bucs were embarrassed across the pond in London in Week 6 when Jameis Winston turned the ball over six times to the Carolina Panthers, there’s still a lot of football left to be played. Whether that means the postseason is still a realistic goal for this team remains to be seen, but for head coach Bruce Arians, it isn’t time to panic just yet.
In fact, Arians won’t even consider the team’s next game — Week 8 at the Tennessee Ti-

tans — a must-win. Arians had this to say:
“It’s still too early for must- wins. We need to win, but I don’t use that term, ‘must-win’ very often. Just like everybody else, we’ll have our game plan set ready to go, take a little time off and come back ready to go.”

The Chargers got the ball at the 49 with 2:35 left after the Titans were stopped on 4th and 1 on a QB sneak attempt. They got it down to the 16, and then Philip Rivers threw a pass to Austin Ekeler, who busted through the middle and went into the end zone for what was ruled to be a touch- down. However, a review de- termined Ekeler was down before scoring, giving the Chargers the ball at the 1.
You figure at that point that the Chargers had the game, but they somehow blew it.
First, the Chargers moved themselves back five yards with a false start. Then they moved back to the 1 after a de- fensive pass interference call. Then for the second time on the possession, they had a touchdown ruling on the field
 WARRICK DUNN
"Make your first million. Make a charity. Give it your name and go to a couple of events every year. It's good for your #brand."
The above sentiments seem to have become prerequisites for professional athletes in the 21st century, where having your own charitable organiza- tion is more or less a compul- sory obligation recommended by sports agents everywhere. How much is actually put into said foundation, well, is up to the athlete.
You don't have to be Mother Teresa, but if you're an athlete (or human being) looking to go above and be- yond in the name of public service, I'd suggest observing Warrick Dunn, who contin- ues to set the golden standard for philanthropy long after re- tiring from the NFL.
Dunn's charity, Warrick Dunn Charities, began helping single-parent families find af- fordable housing in 1997. As the former NFL running back tweeted earlier this October, they've just given away their 145th home to a family in need.

overturned, giving them a 2nd-and-goal at the 1 with 19 seconds left. That’s when Melvin Gordon got the ball for a second consecutive play and got burned on a replay re- view. He was initially ruled to be down short of the goal by contact, but a review deter- mined he had lost a fumble, giving Tennessee the ball on a touchback.
Earl Thomas Taunts Pete Carroll After Fumble Review Goes Ravens’ Way
Earl Thomas sure has hard feelings for Pete Car- roll.
Thomas was bitter towards Carroll and the Seattle Sea- hawks’ front office for not giv- ing him the long-term contract he was seeking. He even flipped off Carroll after suf- fering a broken leg last year.
Thomas is now with the Baltimore Ravens after signing with them in the offseason and was only too happy to get re- venge on his former team with a 30-16 win on Sunday. The victory was sealed on a Mar- lon Humphrey fumble re- turn for a touchdown to make it 30-13 with under four min- utes to go.
The play was reviewed be- fore the ruling went Balti- more’s way. Once the call came in, Thomas yelled at Carroll

on the sideline, according to Ravens reporter Jeff Zrebiec. After the game, Thomas went on the field to shake hands with some of his former teammates and even ex- changed jerseys with Russell Wilson. FOX’s cameras also appeared to show Carroll avoiding Thomas, though the camera shot did not show all angles and what may have pre-
ceded things.
     Devonta Freeman Ejected For
Punching Aaron Donald After Donald Hoisted Him Up Like A Child
Devonta Freeman punching Aaron Donald.
Frustration continues to mound for the Atlanta Fal- cons, and it boiled over for running back Devonta Freeman on Sunday.
Freeman was ejected from Sunday’s game for throwing a punch at Los Angeles Rams lineman Aaron Donald after a play in the third quar- ter.
Freeman was tossed from the game after punching Donald in his helmet. The two teams got into it en masse, but Donald and Freeman took it the fur- thest, as Donald picked up
Freeman by his face mask and pads before Freeman lashed out.
It’s not clear what, if any- thing, set Freeman off. The Falcons are 1-5 and trailed the game 27-3, so it’s entirely plausible that Freeman had just had it and let his frustra- tion boil over.
The Falcons were going to lose either way, so it won’t have any major impact on the outcome of the game. The lack of discipline might not reflect well on coach Dan Quinn in his week-to-week evaluation, however.
