   ‘One Woman Making A Difference’ Women’s History Celebration

An event celebrating Women’s History Month will be held on Friday, March 15th and Saturday, March 16th.
Brenda Greenway of, “One Woman Making A Dif- ference,” will hold her 2nd an- nual Women’s History Month celebration at the Carroll- wood Country Club, 13903 Clubhouse Dr., Tampa, FL 33618, at 7 p. m. This year’s theme will focus on “Hidden Gems,” who are making a dif- ference in the community and in the lives of others through serving.
“Their story must be told to encourage and inspire oth- ers to serve with dignity,” Ms. Greenway said.
Women in the areas of ed- ucation, ministry, entrepre- neurship, and community service will be honored. The

colors for the event are white with a splash of pink.
The keynote speaker is,
Ivoline McLean-Camp- bell, of London, England. The Mistress of Ceremonies will be Veronica Blakely, and entertainment by Ms. “B.”
Two local women design- ers will create fashions that

will be modeled for auction by some of the honorees. Kylia Campbell of Kylia Campbell Designers, and Tia Lofton of Majestic Plus Boutique, will auction off designs from their collection.
The memorial tribute will be to Sister Mary Cather- ine Ross Upshaw.

ing a difference in the lives of families in the community who will be honored are: Lu- cinda Askew, Tonia Bas- com, Rosa Cambridge, Queen Coleman, LaShawn Conner, Evelyn Davenport, Ann Favorite, Erma Griffin, Cathy Henry, B. Jackie John- son, Tammy Johnson, Sylvia Lee, Deborah Blake-Martin, Audrey Miller, Tee Solomon, Joyce Turner, Leola Till- man, Josephine Townsend and Betty Williams.
The event will also host a Women’s Round Table. On Saturday, March 16th, 10 a. m., at The Carrollwood Country Club, panelists will discuss, “Issues of Today – My Story,” which will include some of the honorees and invited guests.
Ms. Campbell will be
speaking on sex trafficking and women and children abuse. Kennethia Shuf- ford-Wright, of Atlanta, GA, will speak on cancer awareness and tell her story of cancer survival.
Ms. Greenway, a real- tor, chaplain, and 1st Vice President of the Tampa Met- ropolitan Section of the Na- tional Council of Negro Women, Inc., said proceeds from the 2-day event will go to local nonprofit organiza- tions, Miracles Outreach and S. O. A. R. First, Youth Devel- opment.
One ticket ($35) will cover the cost to attend both events and can be purchased on Eventbrite. The deadline to purchase tickets is Tues- day, March 12th.
