Man Wanted For Taking Gun From Unlocked Car
as a Black man between 5’6” and 5’10” with a thin build.

Shortly after 3 a.m., on September 23rd, an unidenti- fied man removed a gun from an unlocked car.
The theft took place in the 4100 block of Saltwater Blvd.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice, the man entered the vehicle and removed a cam- ouflage backpack. The back- pack contained a black, Beretta PX4 Storm .40 cal- iber compact firearm.

Homegoing Celebration for Deacon Alfonso James, Sr., who passed away Sep- tember 22, 2017, will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 12 noon at Mt. Cal- vary Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4902 North 40th Street, Tampa, FL 33610, with Pastor Wesley Bruce, officiating. Interment will be at Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea St., Tampa, FL 33610.
The youngest of five sib- lings, Alfonso James was born on February 10, 1932. He grew up in Tampa, FL and attended Mt. Calvary SDA School (now Academy) before moving on to the Hillsborough County Public School System. In 1950, he met and married the love of his life, Althea Thompson and from this union five children were born.
Alfonso was preceded in death by: his parents, Frank and Matilda James; his brothers, Sammy James, Jerome James and Frank James; daughters, Katrina Nichols, and Cynthia Hicks; and his son, Alfonso James, Jr.
He is survived by: his de- voted spouse, Althea James; daughter, Dr. Lor- raine Stiggers (husband, Pastor Norman Stiggers); son, Jerome James (wife, Annette); sister, Willielee Williams; brother-in-law, Alfonso Thompson, Sr. (wife, Eleanor); grandchil- dren: Valencia, David, Ar- lencia, Alicia, Alrene, Artist, Alderrel, Aljerrel, Cyrus, Al- leta, Ivory, Alfonso, III, Jerome, Cynthia, Debron, Shanae; favorite niece, Vicki; 16 great grandchil- dren; daughters-in-law, Terri and Deborah; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Visitation for Deacon Al- fonso James, Sr., will be this Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 5-8 p. m. at Har- mon Funeral Home, 5002 N. 40th St., Tampa, FL 33610. The family will re- ceive friends from 7-8 pm.
The processional will as- semble Friday at 11:45 a. m. at the Church.

MS. FLORIDA ELECTRA PULPHUS
Ms. Florida Electra Pul- phus was born to the late Samuel and Nellie Evans in Chicago, Illinois on November 8, 1923. Sister Pulphus was the eldest of two children. She was educated in the Chicago School System where she met and later married the love of her life, Edward Pulphus, Sr. From this union was born nine children, whom they adored.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Samuel Evans; mother, Nellie; husband, Ed- ward Pulphus; brother, Samuel Evans, Jr.; son, Ed- ward Pulphus, Jr.; and two daughters.
Sister Pulphus worked for 30yearsasaclerkintheU.S. Postal System in Chicago, Ill. After retirement in 1985, she and her husband moved to Tampa, Florida and immedi- ately united with Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. She was a Deaconess, and ac- tively participated in the Golden Ministry Program, Shared Food Program, and sang in Choir #2.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Darnell E. Pulphus and Frederick Pul- phus; daughters, Arletha B. Housmah, Irene P. Bedford, Amy Garner, and Deborah F. Martin; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Pinellas County Sher- iff’s Office is currently investi- gating a series of armed robberies. The most recent took place about 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26.
According to police, the suspects may be responsible for five other armed robberies at area Burger King Restau- rants that began in June and have continued. The robberies occurred in Tampa and Pinel- las Park.
In the most recent robbery, the suspects entered the Burger King Restaurant, 3575 East Bay Drive in Largo.
Once inside the business and armed with handguns, both suspects climbed over the counter and forced the restau- rant manager into the office at gunpoint. The suspects de- manded access to the safe and obtained cash and fled on foot.
The suspects were de- scribed as two black males wearing long sleeve black shirts, black pants, black shoes, black cotton ski masks, and gloves on their hands. One of the suspects was described as being approxi- mately 5’10” tall, thin build, 160 lbs., armed with a handgun. The second man was described as being slightly shorter than suspect one. The investigation is con- tinuing.
