5 Black Air Force Academy Cadets Wake Up To ‘Go Home, N—gger’ Posted On Doors
COLORADO —- After racial slurs were scrawled outside 5 black students' doors at the U. S. Air Force Academy's preparatory school, Superin- tendent Lt. Gen. Jay Silve- ria gathered all 4,000 cadets in a hall Thursday so they could hear one message:
‘Treat people with dignity and respect — or get out.’
"That kind of behavior has no place at the prep school, it has no place at USAFA, and it has no place in the United States Air Force," Silveria
said. ‘You should be outraged not only as an airman, but as a human being."
Speaking to a crowd of some 5,500 people that in- cluded faculty, coaches, airstrip personnel and senior officers and staff of the 10th Air Base Wing that includes the academy, Silveria urged them not to let their institution be taken away from them.
Both the academy and the Air Force amplified Silveria's message through videos and tweets drawing on his speech.
The academy is investigat- ing an incident involving the N-word from last week, when, as local newspaper The Gazette reports, "five black students woke up last Tuesday to find 'Go Home nigger’, scrawled on message boards outside their rooms."
The Gazette, based in Col- orado Springs, Colo., south of the school's base, adds, "Sources at the academy said there appeared to be a single vandal involved, judging by the handwriting."

Receipt At Smoothie Place Called ‘Disrespectful’ By Black Customer
GAINESVILLE, FL — A Florida woman who wanted a smoothie ended up getting an insult thrown in for free.
Cassandra Peoples went to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Gainesville on last Wednes- day and ordered her usual ― a $5.49 “Detox Island.”
Peoples, 47, said the cashier made a point of asking her name, so she was shocked when she saw the receipt.
Instead of “Cassandra,” the employee had identified Peoples as “black chick,” ac- cording to local station WGFL.
“I wouldn’t want to say its racist, its just disrespectful.” Peoples didn’t notice the rude receipt until after she had left the store.
Cassandra Peoples, 47, did not look at the receipt until she left store. Her friend posted the re- ceipt that led to the employee allegedly being fired.
She told The Independent Florida Alligator, the Univer- sity of Florida student newspa-
per, that the employee who made the smoothie was rude when Peoples complained she was making the drink wrong.
Peoples reached out to Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s cor- porate headquarters in Atlanta to complain, but reached a voice mailbox.
Her friend posted a photo of the racially tinged receipt on a Gainesville-themed Face- book page, sparking outrage and hundreds of posts before it was removed, according to the Alligator.
Julie Bartz, the general manager of the Tropical Smoothie Cafe, later posted that the employee responsible had been fired.
