Shooting Suspect
Man Sent To Prison For Making Counterfeit Money For 2nd Time
Charged In Road
A federal judge has sen- tenced a 42-year-old man to prison for the second time for the same crime. Darius Jondi Edwards, of Tampa, pleaded guilty on January 25, 2021.
He was charged with man- ufacturing counterfeit Federal Reserve Notes and violating his federal supervised release.
According to court docu- ments, in 2015, Edwards pleaded guilty in federal court in Jacksonville to charges he manufactured counterfeit Federal Reserve notes (i.e., counterfeit currency), that he and others passed throughout the Jacksonville area.
Edwards was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison, followed by 3 years of
rency and forging/making counterfeit bank bills.
During the course of ar- resting Edwards at a hotel, law enforcement found him to be in possession of coun- terfeit currency, partially completed counterfeit cur- rency, and computer media used to manufacture counter- feit Federal Reserve notes.
Follow up investigation by the United States Secret Serv- ice determined that Ed- wards had purchased the computer media used to man- ufacture the counterfeit notes in Duval County and then transported the computer media to Pinellas County, where he manufactured the counterfeit Federal Reserve notes.

According to the Pinellas Park Police Department, Robert Kyle Lewis, of Largo, was charged with shooting a deadly missile into or at an occupied vehicle and criminal mischief.
On Tuesday, around 8 a.m., officers responded to the 7500 block of south- bound U. S. Highway 19 N. When they arrived, they learned that a shooting that was the result of road rage had taken place.
Detectives conducting the investigation said that the victim, identified as Peter Sala, Jr., had become en- gaged in an argument with Lewis. Both were traveling southbound on Highway 19.
After the argument, Sala reportedly drove past Lewis, who was seated in his pickup truck. At that time, Lewis is alleged to have fired a single

A 2-year-old girl has been admitted to a local hospital after being accidentally shot by her brother. The incident took place in Lakeland.
The young victim was shot one-time in her upper left chest, and is currently in crit- ical, but stable condition at Lakeland Regional Health. She suffered severe injuries to her internal organs.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, who is investigating the shooting, the shooting took place just before midnight Friday. After the shooting, one of the adults at the residence was trans- porting the victim to the hos- pital around 12:15 a.m. The vehicle became involved in a two-car crash at the intersec- tion of Olive Street and Ore- gon Avenue.

Grady Judd, Polk County Sheriff said, “It can’t be stressed enough, if you have firearms in your home, keep them away from chil- dren. A beautiful little girl is fighting for her life right now because another child who didn’t know any better was able to get his hands on a loaded gun.”
