President-elect Joe Biden said Tuesday that the Trump Administration’s ef- forts to vaccinate millions of American people against Covid-19 are falling “far be- hind” what is needed to control the pandemic, pledging to in- voke the Defense Production Act and launch vaccine educa- tion campaigns to accelerate the process and deliver 100 million vaccinations in his first 100 days in office.
Criticizing President Don- ald Trump over the adminis- tration's failure to achieve its pledge to vaccinate 20 million Americans by the end of the year, Biden said he wanted to have 100 million people inocu- lated by the end of his first 100 days in office.
To meet that goal, which works out at a million immu- nizations a day, he acknowl- edged that his administration

would need to move several times faster than Trump’s and vowed to invoke the De- fense Production Act to accel- erate vaccine production and launch an education campaign to tackle vaccine hesitancy.
Biden promised to “move heaven and Earth” to get things moving in the right direction and said he will “spare no ef- fort” to ensure people are vac- cinated.
Lawmakers, escorted by armed guards into a heavily fortified Capitol, adopted the nonbinding measure just be- fore midnight largely along party lines. The final vote was
223 to 205 to implore Pence to declare Mr. Trump “inca- pable of executing the duties of his office and to immediately exercise powers as acting pres- ident.”
