LB Devin White,
Dolphins Will Pay Salary Of Kendrick Norton After Placing Him On Waivers
KENDRICK NORTON
The Miami Dolphins will ensure that Kendrick Nor- ton is paid his salary after his automobile accident.
The Dolphins placed Nor- ton on waivers with a non- football injury designation, meaning that they will still pay him his full salary.
Norton was in a car acci- dent in early July that led to his arm being amputated. He’ll never play football again, but the Dolphins will see to it that he is at least paid what he was to be owed, in addition to his medical bills being handled by NFL and team insurance.

Despite Contract Issue
After several months of negotiation, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to a deal with rookie linebacker Devin White, the fifth over- all pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the team announced Saturday.
As is the case with all first- round selections, White's contract will span four years with a team option in Year 5. White, the lone holdout of Tampa's five-player rookie crop, will now occupy the last spot on the 90-man roster.
Prior to quickly impress- ing his coaching staff during OTAs and establishing him- self as a strong prospect dur- ing the NFL Scouting Combine, White showed out during his three years as a LSU Tiger. In addition to two first-team All-SEC selections and a second-team All-Amer- ican spot in 2017, White was named a Consensus All- American and took home the Butkus Award as a junior in 2018.

reporting to training camp July 21, avoiding any outside distraction by inking White, who's projected to start next to inside linebacker Lavonte David, bodes well for the franchise as the defense con- tinues to retool under new co- ordinator Todd Bowles.
Now that White is off the board, Niners defensive end Nick Bosa, Jets defensive end Quinnen Williams, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and Panthers defen- sive end Brian Burns re- main as the only first round draftees who are still awaiting a contract.
Julio Jones is seeking a new contract, but that didn’t stop him from reporting to Atlanta Falcons training camp.
Jones arrived at Falcons training camp on Sunday, ac- cording to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure.
Jones did not show up for the beginning of the team’s offseason program but reported later and was limited in minicamp due to a foot injury.
The wide receiver has been seeking a new deal and says he was promised one by team owner Arthur Blank. That good faith promise may have been enough to sway Jones to report and not hold out.
The 30-year-old is owed a $9.4 million base salary in the upcoming season and

$11.4 million next season. Jones has caught 31 touch- down passes since 2014 and has consistently been among the league leaders in recep- tions and receiving yards. He likely wants a contract that will lock him in with the Fal- cons for the rest of his career and continue to pay him like one of the best receivers in the sport.

Darren Sproles is return- ing to the City of Brotherly Love.
Sproles and the Philadel- phia Eagles agreed to terms on a one-year contract, the team announced Friday.
The former Charger and Saint has spent the past five seasons in Philly, but last sum- mer he announced his inten- tions to retire after 2018. This late in the offseason, a return seemed unlikely.
The past two seasons have been the toughest of Sproles' career, as he's battled injuries and lack of playing time. Spro- les tore his ACL three games into the 2017 season and missed the Eagles' Super Bowl run, then he returned to play just six games last year.
The NFL announced on Friday that Tyreek Hill will not be suspended following an investigation into the child abuse allegations against him, and the Kansas City Chiefs star has weighed in on the de- cision.
In a statement he released on social media, Hill thanked everyone who has supported him in the wake of the “false allegations” that surfaced in March. He also promised to be “the best father, the best friend, the best role model and the best mentor that I can be” to his two children.
The NFL said a thorough investigation determined that Hill did not violate the league’s personal conduct policy. However, Hill will have to meet a number of conditions, and he could still face disciplinary action in the future if there is new evi-
Daisy Mae, the beloved horse of Tampa Bay Bucca- neers fifth overall draft pick and former LSU linebacker Devin White, passed away Saturday night.
White posted the news on Facebook on Sunday, just hours after he reported for training camp and signed his rookie contract. Daisy Mae was set to be shipped from Cotton Valley, Louisiana, to a stable in Tampa on Sunday to be closer to White.
The horse was not sick but pregnant, and collapsed Saturday night due to heat exhaustion and dehydration.
White, who referred to her as "my daughter" and "first love," celebrated her

birthday with her May 31. He had gone back to Louisiana to be with her a little over a week ago.
White kept the horse at a stable near the LSU cam- pus and rode her out onto the field at Tiger Stadium, calling it "the best moment of my life."

Hill vehemently denied
the allegations against him from the start, and he report- edly provided the NFL with significant evidence that he had nothing to do with his 3- year-old son breaking his arm. An audio recording ap- peared to show Hill’s fiancee accusing him of abusing the couple’s son, but police did not prosecute him after re- viewing the case.
