‘Lion King’ Delivers $185 Million Opening Weekend
Sweden's Prime Minister Won't Yield To Trump's Request To Free A$AP Rocky
WASHINGTON D.C. – As A$AP Rocky continues to sit behind the bars of a Swedish jail, Kanye West and his wife Kim Kar- dashian have been in talks with Donald Trump to get him out.
On Saturday morning (July 20), Trump confirmed he’d spoken to Sweden’s Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and offered to vouch for Rocky’s bail.
“Just had a very good call with @SwedishPM Stefan Löfven who assured me that American citizen A$AP Rocky will be treated fairly,” he tweeted. “Likewise, I as- sured him that A$AP was not a flight risk and offered to personally vouch for his bail,

or an alternative.”
Trump added, “Our
teams will be talking further, and we agreed to speak again in the next 48 hours!”
"The Lion King" roared big for Walt Disney Co., opening with $185 million in weekend sales at North America the- aters and delivering a long- awaited boost to the slumping domestic box office.
The live-action remake of the 1994 cartoon classic faced no serious obstacles in its quest for No. 1. Competing family movies like "Spider- Man: Far From Home" and "Toy Story 4," also a Disney feature, have been in theaters for weeks. Analysts were fore- casting $185 million to $190 million in weekend sales for the new picture, while the stu- dio expected about $175 mil- lion. Either way, "The Lion King" is one of the top debuts of the year.
"The Lion King" features the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen and Beyonce. It

overcame less-than-enthusias- tic reviews and helped cement Disney's remarkable domina- tion of the box office this year.
Buoyed by movies like
"Avengers: Endgame," "Cap- tain Marvel" and "Toy Story
4," Disney headed into the weekend with a 35 percent share of this year's domestic market, or $2.17 billion in rev- enue. That's more than double its nearest competitor, Com- cast Corp.'s NBC Universal.

Arsenio Hall Officially Onboard For 'Coming To America' Sequel
HOLLYWOOD, CA – Come- dian Arsenio Hall has signed on to reprise his memorable supporting role as “Semmi” in Coming To America 2, ac- cording to Deadline.
Murphy confirmed his in- volvement in January.
Hall will star opposite Eddie Murphy, the comedy classic’s original main charac- ter who played “Akeem, Prince of Zamunda” in the Paramount Pictures film.
The sequel will be directed by Craig Brewer and its plot revolves around Akeem re- turning to America to meet his long-lost son who could be the

G-Eazy was arrested in Sweden last year on drug and assault charges, but his situa- tion played out way differently than A$AP Rocky’s current predicament.
After TMZ ran a story call- ing out Sweden’s seemingly racist actions toward the A$AP Mob rapper, G-Eazy hopped on Instagram and threw in his two cents. G- Eazy admits the reason he was out of jail so quickly is likely due to his white privi- lege.
“Facts. This is the sad truth... The difference be- tween me and Rocky’s treat- ment and process in Sweden brings to mind two concepts that disgustingly go hand in
hand: white privilege and sys- temic racism,” he wrote. “Let’s call it what it is. He should not be behind bars right now.
“My heart goes out to my brother @asaprocky and his team. We’re riding for yall. #JusticeForRocky #Free- Rocky.”
Jada Pinkett Smith also chimed in via Twitter and agreed with G-Eazy’s senti- ments.
“Hold it ... G-Eazy got to strike a deal a day and half after possession of drugs and assault charges???” she tweeted on Friday (July 19). “But you’re holding Rocky. We got the message loud and clear Sweden. Trust me ... we got it.”
