Chris Paul Shoots Down Trade Rumors: ‘I’ll Be In Houston’
CHRIS PAUL
Chris Paul is trying to erase any doubt about his bas- ketball future.
Speaking at his second an- nual “Go Hoop Day” event on Sunday, the Houston Rockets guard shot down the recent trade noise surrounding him.
“I never asked for a trade,” said Paul, per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chron- icle. “I never demanded a trade. “I’ll be in Houston,” he went on.
The nine-time All-Star, who turns 35 next year, is owed a staggering $124 mil- lion over the next three sea- sons, and at least one team has declined the opportunity to ac- quire him.
Danny Green Says ‘Hard No’ To Raptors Visiting White House
DANNY GREEN
Danny Green made it quite clear on his podcast that he and the Toronto Raptors have no interest in visiting the White House to celebrate win- ning the NBA championship.
The winners of major sporting championships in America are often invited to the White House to be hon- ored by the sitting president, but many teams and/or play- ers have not continued this tradition during Donald Trump’s presidency.
On his “Inside the Green Room” podcast on Yahoo Sports Canada, Green said his stance was a “hard no” on the Raptors visiting while Trump is in office.
The Raptors would be con- tinuing the tradition of NBA teams skipping a visit with Trump. The Warriors started the trend by saying they didn’t want to visit.

Seriously Considering
Staying With Raptors
Kawhi Leonard is set to officially decline his player option to become a free agent, and the Toronto Raptors may have done enough to con- vince him to stay.
Leonard will officially decline his player option, as expected. However, sources say that Leonard is “seri- ously considering” re-signing with Toronto despite wide- spread interest from else- where.
The Raptors have one major advantage, as they are the only team that can offer Leonard a five year, $190 million supermax contract. He also had a year to get fa- miliar with the city and won an NBA title as the team’s un- questioned leader, adding an-

other Finals MVP trophy to his cabinet.
The belief has been that Leonard would like to re- turn to his native California, likely with the Los Angeles Clippers. However, they may not be the favorite after all after his wildly successful year in Canada.
Drew Brees Awarded
$6.1M In Damages For
Lawsuit Against Jeweler
Drew Brees was awarded $6.1 million in dam- ages by a San Diego Superior Court on Friday for his law- suit against a jeweler.
Brees and his wife filed a suit against La Jolla jeweler Vahid Moradi last year in which they claimed they were sold investment diamonds by Moradi and his company, CJ Charles Jewelers, from 2012- 2016. Brees alleged in his suit that Moradi misrepre- sented the value of the dia- monds, with a separate appraiser valuing them at $6.7 million less than what the Breeses paid.
In one example, a dia- mond Brees paid $8.1 mil- lion for was appraised at $3.7 million. The total amount the Breeses paid Moradi was $15 million.
The jeweler’s attorney claimed that the appraiser

was actually a competitor who tried to sell jewelry to the Breeses. The defense claimed the diamonds were purchased as a gift for Brees’ wife, not investment pur- poses. The defense also claimed any differences in prices were due to standard markups by businesses to cover expenses, according to CBS 8 in San Diego.
When Brees sued last year, he was seeking at least $9 million in damages.
