   Organization Pays Tribute To Graduating Seniors

Recently, several graduat- ing seniors were recognized by a national organization. The presentations took place during the Greater Tampa Chapter of Jack and Jill’s An- nual Black Family Day Cele- bration.
It took place last month at the Westshore Marriott. Nearly 200 members of Jack and Jill, Inc., were on hand for the celebration.
Nine seniors who will at- tend college in the fall were recognized. Jack and Jill ex- tended congratulations to the following seniors: Nya Collins, Maya Eason, Isa- iah Little, Temperance Paris, Ashley Perry, Munro Provine, Zane Tapper, Devin Thomas, and Kaleigh White.

 and philanthropic giving back to the Tampa Bay com- munity. The Chapter spent the annual Martin Luther King Day of Service beautify- ing the West Tampa home of a senior citizen.
“Children and teenagers collected over 85 pounds of food to help combat hunger in Tampa. The chapter pro- vided gifts for 56 children of
incarcerated parents during the Annual Abe Brown Min- istries Christmas Program.”
She further said the Chap- ter raised more than $18,000 for the Jack and Jill of America Foundation and their community partners. Finally, the chapter con- cluded the programming year by hosting the South Florida 2019 Children’s Clus-
ter for over 70 African Amer- ican children and their mothers from across South and Central Florida.
Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a membership organi- zation of mothers with chil- dren ages 2 – 19 whose mission is dedicated to nur- turing future African Ameri- can leaders by strengthening children through leadership
development, volunteer serv- ice, philanthropic giving and civic duty.
The Greater Tampa Chapter was chartered in 1986. In addition to provid- ing exposure opportunities for all children, its members have provided thousands of dollars and countless hours of community service initia-
tives.
 Women’s Fellowship To Honor Grandparents And Caregivers

The 12th Annual “2nd Time Around” Grandpar- ents and Caregivers’ Lunch- eon will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019. The event will be held at THAP Co-Working Collabo- ration, 5508 N. 50th St., Suite 24. The keynote speaker will be Derrick Blue, CEO of THAP, Inc.
The luncheon is being hosted by Yes We Can Women Fellowship Foun- dation. It will honor several grandparents and care-
givers, who are taking care of their relatives after rear- ing their own families.
“We just want to show love and appreciation to these “unsung heroes” of our community,” said Mrs. Gloria Brooks Williams, one of the founders of Yes We Can.
