Man Charged With Death Of His Friend
Armed Suspect Robs Motel
  A Tampa man has been ar- rested and charged with the death of his friend. The shoot- ing took place last Thursday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Ecru Richardson, 21, was shot while at a North Tampa apartment complex. He was driven to a local hospital by his friend, Daundrea Lamar Butler. Richard- son later died.
After Richardson was shot shortly before 9 p.m., Butler called 9-1-1 and ad- vised that he was driving Richardson to the hospital.
Detectives launched an in- vestigation into the shooting. While interviewing Butler, he reportedly admitted that he had driven Richardson to “The Oaks Apartments” in North Tampa. However, But- ler denied knowing the rea- son Richardson wanted to go to the complex.
However, detectives learned that Butler’s vehicle had been seen entering and
Tampa Police are cur- rently investigating a robbery that took place early Monday. The robbery took place shortly after 3 a.m.
According to police, the suspect entered the Roadway Inn, 4955 E. 18th Avenue, and
robbed it at gunpoint. Police did not release a description of the suspect.
No one was injured and no additional information was available at press time and the investigation is con- tinuing.

The investigation further revealed that about 20 min- utes after the car entered the complex, Richardson ran back to the vehicle and But- ler realized that he (Richardson) had been shot. He contacted 9-1-1 as he drove Richardson to the hospital.
As the investigation pro- gressed, detectives learned that Richardson had gone

to the complex to meet an in- dividual to conduct a drug transaction. During the trans- action, the unidentified as- sailant shot Richardson and fled the scene.
Detectives alleged that Butler was aware of the drug transaction and waited in the vehicle for Richardson.
Butler was charged with third-degree murder because the murder took place during the commission of a felony. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail. His bond was set at $15,000.
Woman Shot While Sitting In Car
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man in connection with a shooting Sunday. The incident took place in Winter Haven.
According to police, Ms. Melissa Thomas, 62, of Winter Haven, was sitting in her vehicle outside of the Cir- cle K Store, 1108 Spirit Lake Road. She was preparing to leave when a young Black man, described as being in his 20s, pointed a handgun at her and fired once through her open window. The man then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Ms. Thomas was trans- ported to a local hospital and admitted with non-life threat- ening injuries. She was listed in stable condition.
The man was wearing a black hoodie with white let- tering with his nose and mouth covered. He was also wearing black pants, police said.

Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice have obtained a warrant for a registered sex offender. He is wanted for failure to up- date his residential address within 48 hours of change and failure to re-register quarterly.

Police Search For Sex Offender
   Brothers Charged With Vandalizing School
Police are currently searching for a man in con- nection with the theft of two mountain bikes. The theft took place around 1 p.m., Fri- day.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the bicycles were in a hallway on Postwood Circle in the Woodbridge of Carrollwood Apartments. The suspect took both bicycles and was last seen on North Dale Mabry and Humphrey Street.
The suspect is described as a white man, about 6 feet tall. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and a partial brown

Suspect Sought In Theft Of Mountain Bikes

Three brothers were taken into custody and charged with vandalizing a local high school. The offense took place on No- vember 25th.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, three suspects attempted to force their way into Steinbren- ner High School, 5575 Lutz Lake Fern Road, in Lutz.
The suspects used several different objects to gain entry into the school, but failed. However, they still caused at least $2,500 in damages to the glass window panes and door.
Their images were cap- tured on surveillance video
committing the crime.
All three turned them-
selves in to police after the video was released to the media. Police also received a tip from the public identifying the suspects. None of the three brothers ever attended Stein- brenner High School, where the vandalism took place.
The brothers have been identified as Christopher Ray Martinez, 26, Bryce Allen Martinez, 19, and 17- year-old Seth Michael Mar- tinez. All three were charged with felony criminal mischief and trespassing on school property.
