New Deputy City Clerk Sworn Into Office

Recently, a young Tampa woman received a promo- tion with the City of Tampa. She began her career 14 years ago.
Ms. Suling Lucas was hired in 2003 as Support Clerk in the City Clerk’s Of- fice. On November 20th, she was sworn into office as the Deputy City Clerk.

She graduated from Jef- ferson High School and en- tered the workforce.
Ms. Lucas decided to further her education and enrolled at St. Petersburg College, where she earned an A. S. Degree in Business Administration and an A. A. in General Studies. She is currently earning credits to- wards a B. S. Degree at St. Petersburg College.
The 36-year-old mother of three enjoys writing po- etry, traveling, and spend- ing time with her three children. “I want to make sure that they are successful in life,” the single parent said.
