Appointed Director Of Development At University Area CDC
The University Area Com- munity Development Corpo- ration (University Area CDC) has appointed Jaree Ervin as Director of Development.
“We are so excited to have Jaree join our team,” said Sarah Combs, Executive Director and CEO. “Her vi- sion and wealth of experience will be a great asset to the or- ganization, as she will play an integral role in advancing the mission of University Area CDC by developing donor strategies and increasing fundraising opportunities.”
Ms. Ervin has an exten- sive background in philan- thropy and fundraising, having most recently served as Vice President of Develop- ment for the Indianapolis Urban League and Director of Development for the Indiana Network for Higher Educa- tion Ministries. Ms. Ervin also served as a research as- sociate for the Indiana Uni- versity Public Policy Institute.
Ms. Ervin received a Bachelor’s degree from Indi- ana University, and she is a graduate of the Lilly School of Philanthropy with a Master’s of Philanthropic Studies. She is certified in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from Indiana University’s The Fund Raising School, and is certified in Nonprofit Man- agement (CNPM) from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Af- fairs. Men Of Vision Members Receive Scholarships

Last week, four high school seniors and members of Men Of Vision were chosen as finalists for scholarships. The award ceremony was held on Wednesday, December 6th, at TPepin Hospitality Centre.
The scholarship recipients are: Pierre Alsint, of Hills- borough High School; Aaron Webb, of Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School; Ri- cardo Watson, and Jalen Ray, both of Jefferson High School.
The scholarships were presented to the teenagers by
the Keep Tampa Bay Beauti- ful (KTBB) organization. The invitation to apply was only extended to 15 students in the Tampa Bay Area who have volunteered their time with the organization.
The scholarship awards ranged from $500 to $2,000. The awards may be used for tuition or books at any ac- credited Florida College, Uni- versity, or Technical School.
Pierre Alsint was awarded a $1,500 scholar- ship; Aaron Webb was pre- sented a scholarship for $1,000; and a $500 scholar- ship was presented to both Ricardo Watson and Jalen Ray.
Last year, 8 members of Men Of Vision Service organ- ization were presented schol- arships, including Eric Vincent, Steinbrenner High School graduate and Jeffer- son High School graduate Jeffrey Ray. Both of those young men were selected as Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful Environmental Ambassadors.
This year, the honor Class of 2018 Environmental Am- bassador was bestowed upon Pierre Alsint.

Palm River Family Services To Host Open House
Members of the Palm River community will gather for their Annual Holiday Open House. The event will take place from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., at the Palm River Family Services Center, 7454 Palm River Road.
The event will feature family-friendly activities, cookie dec- orating and pictures with Santa. The photography session will take place from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m.
