Two Air Force Enlistees Complete Basic Training
Birthday Celebrated At Riverview Recreational Center

  Two individuals with ties to Tampa have completed basic military training in the U. S. Air Force. Both participated in their respective graduation cer- emonies held at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.
Airman Jasmine C. Mar- shall and Reserve Airman 1st Class Juan S. Zuleta Re- strepo completed an inten- sive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fit- ness, and basic warfare princi- ples and skills.
Both Airmen also earned four credits toward an Associ- ate in Applied Science Degree through the Community Col- lege of the Air Force.
Airman Marshall is the daughter of Ronald Mar- shall, of Phenix City, AL, and Bettina Randle, of Jack- sonville, AR. She is the sister of Aaron Marshall, of Tampa, and the granddaughter of Julia Randle, of Jacksonville,

Reserve Airman 1st Class Restrepo is the son of Luis O. Zuleta Restrepo, and the brother of Luis F. Zuleta Restrepo, both of Tampa. He graduated from Chamberlain High School in 2016.
     Pedestrian, 9, Recovering From Accident
 A 9-year-old is in stable condition after being struck by a car last Thursday. The acci- dent took place at Bearss Av- enue and Bruce B. Downs Blvd.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the youngster, whose name
was not released, was trans- ported to a local hospital. He was alert.
His condition was later up- graded to stable. No additional information on the driver or the nature of his injuries were released, police said.

  Motorcyclist Killed In Traffic Accident
 A 26-year-old man died Thursday after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle. The accident took place in the 1400 block of E. Busch Blvd.
According to Tampa Police, Salmane Benjelloun was driving his 2006 Yamaha mo- torcycle westbound on Busch Blvd., shortly after 7 p.m. Ms. Remi Nicole Calderoni, 20, was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion eastbound on Busch Blvd.
Police said Ms. Calderoni
stopped in the northbound turn lane with a small portion of her vehicle in the westbound lane. Benjelloun lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected. He struck the lower front of the Ford Fusion and was trapped beneath the vehi- cle.
He died as a result of his in- juries. No charges have been filed in the case and the acci- dent remains under investiga- tion, police said.

  Passenger Dies After Falling From Van
 Police are investigating an accident that left a person dead. Police have not released any information about the vic- tim pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Plant City Police Department, the acci- dent took place Friday night. The vehicle in which the pas- senger was riding was traveling
on Alexander Street, approach- ing Interstate 4. The passenger fell from the van and onto the roadway.
Other vehicles traveling southbound were unable to avoid striking the passenger, who died as a result of the in- juries.
The investigation is contin- uing.
