Tamara Shamburger Is ASALH
Dec. 16 Holiday Honoree
The Tampa Bay Chapter of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History – ASALH – will host an appreciation pro- gram for Hillsborough County School Board Mem- ber, the Honorable Tamara Shamburger on Saturday December 16, 1 p. m. at the Robert W. Saunders Public Library, 1505 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa. The event is free and open to the public.
“This holiday celebration will pay tribute to School Board Member Sham- burger and to the founder of ASALH, Dr. Carter G. Woodson, in celebration of his birthday,” said Tampa Bay ASALH President Tyna Middleton.

Gadson Sisters Host Seniors For Thanksgiving
The Gadson Sisters — Johnnie Mae Harris, Betty Broadway, Yvonne Douglas and Henrietta Walton — held their 6th Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Luncheon for Seniors on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Temple Crest Community Center. The invitation-only lunch- eon was free for senior citizens.
