Bills Release DE Mario Williams
MARIO WILLIAMS
In a long-anticipated move, the Buffalo Bills have released defensive end Mario Williams, the team an- nounced Tuesday.
Williams, who had two seasons remaining on a six- year, $100 million deal he signed in 2012, was set to count $19.9 million against the Bills’ salary cap. Prior to Williams’ release, the Bills’ 2016 cap number was pro- jected to be in excess of their adjusted salary cap.
The Bills will save $12.9 mil- lion against their 2016 salary cap by releasing Williams and will carry the remaining $7 million of Williams’ cap number as dead money.
Roddy White Cut By Falcons
RODDY WHITE
Roddy White's illustrious 11-year career with the Atlanta Falcons came to an end Wednesday when the team that selected him in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft announced it had released him.
“Roddy is one of the great- est players to ever put on a Fal- cons uniform, and even more importantly he is a man of tremendous character that I and my entire family have pro- found personal affection and respect for,” Falcons owner and Chairman Arthur Blank said. “Roddy will forever be part of the Falcons family and I’m confident our fans will al- ways remember and be grate- ful for the exemplary way he has represented them over the last 11 years."
The Falcons had been toeing the will-they-or-won't-they line for some time when it came to White's release, but with the 34-year-old's base salary increasing and his pro- duction declining, it's sensible the team would want to sever ties.

Doug Martin Will Be A Free Agent
Aroldis Chapman Apologizes For 'Bad Judgment' In Using Gun
The Tampa Bay Bucs did not place their franchise tag on All-Pro running back Doug Martin before the March 1st deadline, ensuring the running back will be allowed to hit the free-agent market later this month.
Martin, who started with Tampa Bay in 2015, rushed for 1,402 yards on 288 carries and six touchdowns while also catching 33 passes for 271 and one touchdown.
A lot of teams will surely be interested in Martin’s serv- ices such as the San Francisco 49ers as he has proven to be a reliable, tough runner who can

get the short yards, break the long run and also be a weapon receiving.
So, barring an unlikely last- minute deal with the Bucs, Martin will hit the open mar- ket next week. No one helped their value more last season. Martin went from an after- thought to the No. 2 rusher in the NFL.
New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman, sus- pended for 30 games Tuesday for his role in an alleged do- mestic violence incident, is- sued a partial apology Wednesday while continuing to maintain he did not hurt his girlfriend.
