DeSean Jackson Reportedly Likely To Miss Two Weeks
DESEAN JACKSON
Philadelphia Eagles wide re- ceiver DeSean Jackson looks set to be sidelined for two weeks with an abdominal strain.
According to Tim Mc- Manus of ESPN, Jackson is likely to miss games against the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. He could return Oct. 6 against the New York Jets.
Myles Garrett Sends Well Wishes To Trevor Siemian After Injury
TREVOR SIEMIAN AND MYLES GARRETT
Trevor Siemian’s time as the starting quarterback of the New York Jets lasted less than a full half on Monday night, as he left with an injury following a crushing hit from Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Myles Garrett.
Following the game, Gar- rett was quick to send well wishes to his opponent.
Garrett took to Twitter after the Browns’ 23-3 win to wish Siemian a “speedy recov- ery” and say he would never want to injure anyone.
Colin Kaepernick Reaching Out To QB-Needy Teams, In ‘Best Shape Of His Life’
COLIN KAEPERNICK
   Is Already Ranked
In The Top 10;
 Face Giants Sunday
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense will be a focal point of storylines this week as they prepare to take on the New York Giants and rookie quar- terback Daniel Jones.
Going up against an un- proven rookie will have defen- sive coordinator Todd Bowles scheming away this week. But, unlike last year when the Buccaneers finished 27th overall in defense (while their offense finished third), this year’s squad already finds itself ranked in the top-10 in the NFL.
As of now, the Buccaneers have the league’s eighth-best overall defense, allowing just 304.0 yards per game. Not only that, but their rush defense is tied for sixth, surrendering only 68.5 yards on average.
That’s a good thing, too, considering Giants running back Saquon Barkley is sec- ond in the league in rushing

this year with 227 yards. You can be sure, too, that we’ll see a healthy dose of Barkley early on, as it’s possible Giants head coach Pat Shurmur will want to ease Jones into the offense.
The Bucs held Carolina run- ning back Christian McCaf- frey in check last week. If they can stop Barkley in Week 3, more teams are going to start taking this Tampa Bay defense seriously. The Bucs game starts at 4:05 p.m. Sundady at Ray- mond James.
There has been a rash of in- juries to both starting and backup quarterbacks through the first two weeks of the NFL season, and one former NFC champion is still working out hoping for a call. His name is Colin Kaepernick.
SNY’s Chris Williamson spoke with a source close to Kaepernick this week who says the former San Francisco 49ers star is in “literally the best shape of his life.” With sev- eral quarterbacks going down already this year, Kaeper- nick’s agent has been reaching out to NFL teams.
Ben Roethlisberger will be out for the remainder of the season with an elbow injury, while Drew Brees (thumb) Nick Foles (collarbone) and Sam Darnold (mono) are all going to miss several more games. The New York Jets are actually on their third-string quarterback, as Trevor Siemian has been ruled out for the year after suffering a significant ankle injury in Mon- day night’s loss to the Cleve-
land Browns. Cam Newton also missed practice Tuesday with a foot injury, and his sta- tus remains up in the air.
Colin Kapernick Nabs Emmy For Controversial Nike Ad
Nike took a major gamble aligning its brand with exiled quarterback Colin Kaper- nick—and on Sunday, their risk yielded what most would’ve never expected: an Emmy.
According to the Holly- wood Reporter, Nike’s contro- versial “Dream Crazy” ad featuring the former NFL star won for Outstanding Commer- cial at the 2019 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The controversial two- minute ad debuted during the Thursday night opener of the 2018 NFL season and features Kapernick encouraging view- ers to “believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
   Antonio Brown Likely
 To Remain Eligible To
Play In Week 3
The possibility of the NFL placing Antonio Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list still remains, but early indica- tions are that the star wide re- ceiver will remain eligible to play for at least another week.
There was no change to Brown’s playing status as of Wednesday morning, which makes it seem likely that he will be eligible to face the New York Jets on Sunday.
Britney Taylor, the woman who filed a sexual as- sault lawsuit against Brown last week, met with the NFL on Monday for 10 hours to discuss the allegations. Brown is ex- pected to sit down with league officials at some point in the near future. If he does end up being placed on the commis-

sioner’s exempt list, the move would probably come after he gets a chance to discuss the sit- uation with the league.
Brown has also been ac- cused of sexual misconduct by a second woman, who chose to remain anonymous and says she has no plans to file charges or a lawsuit. The NFL will likely ask Brown about those allega- tions as well.
