Michael Jordan To Sell Portion Of Charlotte Hornets, But Will Remain Majority owner
A 35-year-old Mexican woman and ex girlfriend ru- mored to have led the assas- sin unit of El Chapo’s Sinaloa Cartel was found dead in her presumed lover’s bed over the weekend, ac- cording to new reports.
Claudia Ochoa Felix — nicknamed the “Kim Kar- dashian of organized crime” — was found lifeless in a home in Isla Musala in the city of Culiacan, Spanish- language outlet La Prensa re- ported Saturday.
Ochoa Felix became so- cial media-famous in 2014 for posting photos of herself wielding pink and gold AK- 47s and toting designer handbags, The Telegraph re- ported.
At the time, Mexican newspapers suggested that she was at the helm of Los Ántrax, an armed enforce- ment wing of the Sinaloa drug cartel — for which she’s been given a second nick- name, the “Empress of Antrax,” according to the re- port.
Other reports indicate that she died of pulmonary aspiration — which occurs when someone inhales for- eign objects such as fluids into their lungs.
Alcohol and other sub- stances were found in Ochoa Felix’s body and she died of suffocation, according to prosecutor Juan Jose Rios Estavillo — but her official cause of death has not been released pending autopsy re- sults, The Sun reported.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether her death was accidental or whether there was foul play involved.
The night before Ochoa Felix was found dead, she had gone to a nightclub with a man, according to La Prensa. The pair apparently slept late, and when the man tried to talk to her in the morning, she did not re- spond — so he called the po- lice.
The curvy brunette worked as a model, and was romantically connected to Jose Rodrigo Arechiga, a friend of El Chapo, better known as “El Chino Án- trax,” who headed the gang before he was arrested, The Sun reported, citing local media.
She was also married to a Sinaloa Cartel drug trafficker nicknamed “El Chavo Felix,” with whom she had three children, according to the report.
Michael Jordan’s sur- prising sale of part of the Charlotte Hornets is not a night-to-day decision, but rather a conscious one for a franchise that will need some stability as a small NBA mar- ket.
Jordan sold a portion of his team to Gabe Plotkin, founder of Melvin Capital, and Daniel Sundheim, founder of D1 Capital— two Wall Street hedge-fund traders in hopes to share the financial risk as well as the reward that comes with owning the franchise.
Jordan initially bought a stake in the then-Charlotte Bobcats in June 2006 — ulti- mately buying out former ma- jority owner Bob Johnson in 2010. That initial $175 million

investment now has the team, which later had its name changed back to the Hornets, valued at $1.3 billion accord- ing to Forbes — more than seven times what the NBA leg- end bought it for.
Michael Jordan, Jeanie Buss Among NBA Owners Launching New Tequila
Charlotte Hornets gover- nor Michael Jordan, Los Angeles Lakers co-governor Jeanie Buss, Milwaukee Bucks co-governor Wes Edens and Celtics co-gover- nor Wyc Grousbeck created a line of tequilas, Cincoro Tequila.
The NBA governors and Cincoro partners have already invested "several million dol- lars" into the venture. And Jordan also contributed to the company by serving as one of the members on the tasting team, which "tested more than 1,000 different tequilas before deciding on their own blend."
