2nd Of 3 Cleanup Events Is Saturday
Cleanup event scheduled for August 7th
"I strongly believe that we are leading when we serve! We love serving the community!" Kella Mc- Caskill, Founder of The Center for Economic Devel- opment (TCED), said this is the premise on which her organization decided to start Community Cleanup events.
The Center for Economic Development presents the 2nd of the series of three community clean up events this year. TCED offers sen- iors, disabled persons, low- income, and veterans light community cleanup services and rehab.
“We evaluate each of the
homes for safety issues and assist with resolving code enforcement issues in the City of Tampa, Plant City, Temple Terrace, and the In- corporated areas of Hills- borough County. The Center offers services to those that need assistance beyond the limitations set by the city and county government.”
With the help of private donors, government (City Councilman Orlando Gudes, Fire Chief Bar- bara Tripp and a couple of firefighter teams), commu- nity sponsors, and volun- teers (Foundation Mechanical, Ronald Jones (Washington Football team), 2GI (Kimberly Davis), Peyton Barber Foundation, Chaney Cigar
Lounge, Maduro Marauders Lounge, Gracefully Cooking by Angel) and over 100 vol- unteers from the commu- nity the work gets done.
The TCED Community
Cleanup will be held on Sat- urday, August 7, 2021, at Ragan Park, 1200 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605. Starting time is 9 a. m.
“We are currently look- ing for more volunteers and sponsors to increase home- owners in need of our help.” If you want to participate, please contact Kella Mc- Caskill at (813) 362-7222, kellasells@gmail.com, to volunteer, sponsor, or both, go to www.community- camp.-org.
"I have never experi- enced anything like this. The community coming together to help me has moved my heart." Mr. Braxton, of E.
17th Avenue, Tampa, 33605, is one of the TCED Cleanup Event recipients.
Founded by Ms. Mc- Caskill, The Economic De- velopment Center, Inc. (T.E.D.C.) will combat the deterioration of the commu- nity by assisting residents in developing and growing small businesses. In addi- tion, decent housing afford- able to low-income and moderate-income; training and workshops; creating an environment where compa- nies will want to locate within the community, and community residents will have the resources needed to improve quality of life.
