Buccaneers Consulted
With Tom Brady Before Selecting QB Kyle Trask
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers are not taking any risks when it comes to the happi- ness of their franchise quar- terback.
The Buccaneers selected Florida quarterback Kyle Trask in the second round of the draft, providing Tom Brady with a possible succes- sor. According to coach Bruce Arians, the move was made with Brady’s support and

blessing, and the quarterback had advance knowledge that Trask would be the selection.

 Wants To Mentor This
Rookie Quarterback
  Teddy Bridgewater,
Robert Griffin, III has taken a particular interest in one of the rookie quarter- backs of the 2021 class — so much so that he’s interested in joining the team to mentor him.
Griffin, who is currently a free agent, shed some light on the sort of learning curve Trey Lance will face after being selected No. 3 overall by the San Francisco 49ers. Griffin was quarterback of the Washington Football Team while current Niners coach Kyle Shanahan was

the offensive coordinator, and Griffin noted how com- plex Shanahan’s offense could be. He even outright volunteered to join the 49ers to try to help Lance out.

Chicago, this is not a dream. The Chicago Bears, who have been forced to suffer through arguably the worst quarterback play of any fran- chise in NFL history, have fi- nally found their franchise signal-caller.
Early in Round 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft, Bears general manager Ryan Pace pulled off a trade that moved Chicago up from Pick 20 to Pick 11. It cost them the 164th overall pick, a 2022 first-rounder and a 2022 fourth-rounder, but they ultimately secured Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, the third-ranked prospect on the PFF big board and the fifth-best prospect PFF has ever evaluated.
JUSTIN FIELDS
This was the perfect sce- nario every Bears fan was likely hoping for, but like a punch-drunk boxer spurned by past disappointments, many thought it impossible, expecting the worst. But gen- eral manager Ryan Pace came through; he took advan- tage of others' mistakes and fi- nally got the Windy City the franchise quarterback it has been begging for.
said he’ll give incumbent starter Drew Lock and new arrival Teddy Bridgewater equal time with the first-team offense in Organized Team Activities and training camp, with both of them having a chance to earn the starting job.
“It will be something that at the end of the day, maybe not at the end of every day but over the course of OTAs and training camp, it’ll be 50-50,” Fangio said.
