Tampa Inmate Dies In Hillsborough County Jail
Missing Found, Reunited With Family
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after a young man died at the Falkenburg Road Jail. The incident took place on De- cember 1, 2019.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Marcus Antonio Young was in- volved in a medical incident when he collapsed while walking through the visita- tion area to visit a relative. Young fell forward and struck his head on the floor.
He was immediately transported to Tampa Gen- eral Hospital, where he re- mained until December 3rd. Surveillance video and inter- views with personnel and other inmates confirmed
was transported to the Falkenburg Road Jail infir- mary for further observation.
On December 7th, Young was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital when he lost consciousness. Young died at the hospital.
Detectives conducted in- terviews with other inmates and other personnel assigned to the infirmary.
The investigation remains active pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Of- fice.
Young’s next of kin has been notified of his passing. He was in custody charged with sexual battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and armed imprisonment.
An eleven-year-old child who had been reported miss- ing has been located. He has been reunited with his fam- ily.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Saveeae Omernick was reported missing Saturday. He was last seen on Saturday after- noon. He was reported miss- ing from the 2300 block of E. 23rd Avenue.
After his family was un- able to locate him, they con- tacted the Tampa Police Department. The family has only lived in Tampa for a few months.

Motorcyclist Dies In Accident With HART Bus
Community Invited To Submit Names For New School
An unidentified man died last Friday after being in- volved in a traffic accident. The accident took place at the intersection of S. Dale Mabry and W. Euclid Av- enue.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the acci- dent took place shortly after 8 p.m. Witnesses told police that the motorcycle driver was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on S. Dale Mabry. The HART bus was
traveling northbound on Dale Mabry and was in the process of making a turn westbound onto Euclid Av- enue.
The motorcycle struck the rear corner of the bus. The driver suffered fatal in- juries and died at the scene. The motorcycle driver did not have any passengers and no other injuries were re- ported to police.
The investigation is con- tinuing.
The Hillsborough County School District will open a new elementary school in August 2020. The District is currently inviting members of the community to submit possible names and mascot for the new facility.
The School District will hold a community meeting Thursday, December 12, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., in the Shields Middle School Cafeteria, 15732 Beth Shields Way, in Ruskin. Families will be able to meet the new principal, who will be appointed at the Decem- ber 10 School Board meeting.

obtain more information about the new school and submit recommendations for its name and mascot.
Currently known as Ele- mentary D, the school will be located on Gate Dancer Road, west of U. S. Highway 301 in the Belmont Subdivi- sion, in southeast Hillsbor- ough County. The new school, which will be located in the Riverview area, will provide space for an area that is rapidly growing in population. It will offer relief for the current elementary schools, Doby, Cypress Creek, and Reddick Elemen- tary Schools that are already
in the area.
School Board policy dic-
tates that all elementary, middle, and secondary school sites and facilities shall be named for individu- als who have rendered out- standing public service; U. S. Presidents; school board members; educators; out- standing citizens; geograph- ical locations or groups of clubs.
Anyone wishing to submit the name of an elected offi- cial must select an individual who has left office at least five years earlier. If a school is recommended to be named after a geographical location in the community, the name(s) proposed must be descriptive and a reason- able length.
All names submitted will be forwarded to the Hillsbor- ough County School Board for consideration.
The last day to submit a name for consideration is December 17th. The School Board will vote on a name for the new school at their Janu- ary 14, 2020 meeting.
