PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT INVITATION TO BID
The SCHOOL BOARD OF HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Florida, seeks sealed bids from qualified bidders for Hurricane Hardening at 2 Sites (Erwin, McLane). Project scope provides for the installation of new fixed and entryway storefront systems, exterior infill panels, and installation of new structural strong back ties in Building No. 1 at Erwin Technical Center and complete replacement of exterior window systems with fixed storefront (entry lobbies) in addition to complete replacement of all exterior HM door, frame, and hardware systems in Building No. 9 at McLane Middle School in Hillsborough County, Florida with an estimated construction cost between $612,493.45 and $1,224,986.90.
Qualified firms can submit bids to the Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) Operations Division on the 2nd Floor of the Velasco Student Services Center, 1202 E. Palm Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33605, until bid opening at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
HCPS will host a mandatory pre-bid conference at the Velasco Student Services Center, Operations Conference Room No. 242-A, 1202 E. Palm Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33605 at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Attendees must sign in and present a photo ID to gain access to the Velasco Building.
The bid documents include specific bid submittal requirements. HCPS maintains general requirements applicable to all construction-related bids on the HCPS website at:

The bid documents identify specific requirements for bid security, surety bonds, and insurance. The successful bidder must provide evidence of required insurance prior to proceed- ing with the work.
Bidders are subject to the HCPS Small Business Encouragement Program, as described in the bid documents.
