Local
   Presidential Race Not Decided, But Local Candidates Will Be Getting To Work
 Aswegotopresson this Wednesday afternoon, there is no decision as to who will serve as the Pres- ident of the United States for the next 4 years. How- ever, locally, we will see some new faces, and some names not so familiar.
Kathy Castor will continue to serve Hillsbor- ough County in the U. S. House of Representative, District 14.
State Senator Darryl Rouson will serve an- other term after defeating Christina Paylan for District 19. In District 20, Danny Burgess (R) de- feated Democrat Kathy Lewis, who received 45.2% of the votes.
Nancy Millan will serve as the next Tax Col- lector of Hillsborough County. She has worked in the Tax Collector’s office for many years.
Gwen Myers, a for- mer County employee, will replace County Commis- sioner Les Miller (term limited out) on the Board of County Commissioners,

man Harry Cohen will become a new member on the Board of County Com- missioners (District 1). He defeated Scott Levinson.
Henry “Shake” Washington defeated in- cumbent Tamara Sham- burger as a new member to the Hillsborough County School Board, Dis- trict 5. Nadia Combs (District 1), unseated Steve Cona, III, and Jessica Vaughn (District 3) will join Washington as new School Board mem- bers. Lynn Gray (District 7) will retain her seat on the Board after defeating Sally Harris.
In other election results for Hillsborough County, Andrew Warren will re- tain his post as the State Attorney for Hillsborough County. Coach Bob Henriquez will remain as Hillsborough County’s Property Appraiser. Chad Chronister defeated 2 challengers to remain as the Sheriff of Hillsborough County.

JUDGE MONICA MCCOY PURDY
Tampa native and King High School graduate, Judge Monica McCoy Purdy won the District Judgeship for the 95th Judicial District Court in Dallas County, Texas.
Judge Purdy grew up in East Tampa on Rivergrove Dr.
