Sex Offender With Tampa Ties Linked To Panama Shooting

A convicted sex offender is being held without bond in the Bay County Jail. He is facing several charges.
Michael Harrison Hunt, 53, was arrested for failure to appear in court re- lated to a sex case hearing. However, he has also been listed as a person of interest in a shooting that left one person dead and three others wounded.

In the current case, Hunt is accused of threaten- ing a woman with a gun after she confronted him about having sexual activity with her neighbor’s daughter. During the investigation, the teenager told police that Hunt had paid her $100 to have sex with him. A witness told police that Hunt visited the girl’s home on a regular
basis to pick her up.

Hunt’s name was first linked to a rape case involv- ing a Tampa teenager in

2010. During the investiga- tion, DNA was collected. However, it was not processed due to a backlog of rape kits. By the time the kit was processed in 2015, the victim was no longer inter- ested in prosecution. As a re- sult, the charges were dropped.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man in connection with a theft. The theft took place last Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the man entered Boost Mobile, 7338 W. Waters Avenue, shortly before 1 p.m. He was accompanied by 2 other men, one of whom was dressed in women’s clothing.
After talking to the store clerk for a few minutes, the two other men left the store as the suspect attempted to buy three iPhones, valued at $3,200. The clerk told the suspect that his method of payment was not accepted due to possible fraud.
The man attempted to grab all three phones. When the clerk grabbed the phones, he grabbed a wireless key- board off the counter, raised it in a threatening manner, and ordered the clerk to give him the phones.
The clerk complied and he fled the area in a 2007 Hyundai, possibly a Sonata,

The suspect is described
as being Black, about 5’7” and weighs about 170 pounds. He had a goatee, piercings in both ears and was carrying a multi-colored purse.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect linked to a shoplifting incident. It took place around 2:30 a.m., last Thursday.
According to police, the suspect entered the Walmart, 11720 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd., in Seffner. He reportedly used a set of pliers to cut the security de- vice attached to an ONN 50” LED 4K television.
The man then lifted the TV into a shopping cart and pushed it towards the exit of the store. Once

he made it to the exit, he picked up the TV and ran out of the store without paying for it.
The suspect was seen get-
ting into the passenger side of an unknown make and model white sedan be- fore fleeing.
He is described as a Black man in his mid to late 30s. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, green, blue and white jacket, black athletic shorts and black slides.

Vacuum Machines Becoming Theft Targets
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigat- ing a series of newly emerg- ing crimes. Thieves are targeting the vacuum ma- chines at gas stations.
Since March 21st, deputies have investigated three dif- ferent instances where the machines were broken into. So far, $877 in loose change has been taken from the ma- chines.

at the Circle K, 12850 Morris Bridge Road, in Thonoto- sassa; the 7-Eleven, 5601 E. Fletcher Avenue; and the Cir- cle K, 14611 Bruce B. Downs.
