Along with scholarship
funding, proceeds raised will also go towards the many acts of service the Tampa Alphas participate in around the Tampa Bay area.
One of the signature initia- tives managed by the local chapter is the Men of Tomor- row Program (MOT). The
MOT Program is geared to- ward motivating and mentor- ing students from underserved communities to continue their education, complete high school and enter college. Mid- dle and high school students are involved in interactive workshops and thoughtful group discussions including FCAT/ACT/SAT test prepara- tion; college preparation and college tours; financial aid and managing personal finances.
“We encourage the com- munity to come out and sup- port this wonderful event,” says Chapter President Howard Harris. It will take all of us to invoke the change that we need to see in our communities. We also must continue to shine a light on the paths that lead our young men to successful futures. We can only do that by modeling ex- cellence, encouraging them, and supporting their educa- tional goals!”
