   No Arrest Made In Death Of High School Football Player
 The investigation into the shooting death of an 18- year-old athlete is continu- ing. No one has been arrested in the case.
Last Sunday night, shortly before 8 p.m., Grover Wills was driven to the Mobile Gas Station, 612 W. Lumsden Road by an associate. Wills reportedly got out of the car and met another adult man. The two men fought and Wills was shot.
After being shot, Wills ran back to the vehicle and the unidentified person who had driven Wills to the lo- cation drove him to a local hospital. Wills died as a re- sult of his injuries.
A spokesman for the Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office said detectives met with the adult man in- volved in the shooting and his attorney. That individual has not been identified by police.

  Detectives are continu- ing to locate witnesses to the shooting.
However, the case will be forwarded to the Hillsbor- ough County State Attor- ney’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed.
Wills was a senior at
Durant High School and a member of the school’s foot- ball team. He was slated to graduate in May and report- edly had scholarship offers at the time of his death.
   Former Tampa Police Chief To Run For Mayor

Jane Castor, former Tampa Police Chief has filed to run for the Office of Mayor of the City of Tampa. She joins several others bidding for the position.
In a press release, Castor said, “Many Tampa residents know me as their Police Chief, where for six years I led the largest department with the largest budget in our City.
“Others know me as their neighbor and community ad- vocate who has stood along- side them for the betterment of Tampa. We have accom- plished so much, but there is still work to be done. I am running for Mayor because our City needs a proven leader who will continue to celebrate our successes while working with everyone to solve the im- portant challenges that lie ahead.”
A Tampa native, Castor served as a member of the Tampa Police Department for 31 years. In October 2009, she became the first woman to serve as the Chief in the his- tory of the department. She retired in 2015.

Castor, 58, further said, “I believe our City’s greatest resource is our citizens.
“Our combined hard work, hopes and dreams are what make Tampa strong. And with your help, I’ll stand strong as Tampa’s next Mayor, leading our city towards a brighter fu- ture.”
Others who have filed to run for Mayor are: Harry Cohen, Michael Anthony Hazard, Christopher Morrison, and Ed Tu- ranchik.
