Local
Community Leader
     Announces Candidacy
For Hillsborough County
School Board District 7
Dr. Jeffery Johnson of Hillsborough County is offi- cially a qualified candidate to serve on the Hillsborough County School Board for Dis- trict 7, countywide.
Dr. Johnson has been known throughout the Tampa Bay region as a faith leader, frequent local news contributor, leadership devel- opment consultant, educa- tional advocate, mentor, and the founder of the now Hills- borough and Pinellas County sponsored “You Deserve To Be Loved” Girls Summit.
As a potential member of the Hillsborough County Board, Johnson’s objectives are to build on current strengths and contribute to new methods for advancing educational equity. This in- cludes the tripod system of schools, families, and com- munity as the core foundation to a thriving school system and quality of life for stu- dents, educators, and part- ners. Being elected as a board member would change the narrative of diversity for his three beloved sons and for the Millennial and Z Generations that follow.
Dr. Johnson says, “I’m fighting to ensure that our schools, families, and com- munity partners are working together to ensure the longevity of success for all children. Hillsborough, it’s imperative that we intention- ally develop early childhood literacy for our children from their cribs to their career. To ensure the successful aca- demic development of stu- dents representing all demographics, I strongly en- courage a more diverse board in gender and ethnicity. We need to send a message of so- cial change and unity that to- gether we are stronger.”
Johnson’s leadership op- portunities began in 2000
