The Yankees may have dropped the ball with their poorly-timed responses to the recent protests, but the team’s players have more than lived up to the challenge of the mo- ment.
Aaron Judge, CC Sabathia, Aaron Hicks, and Giancarlo Stanton were among the many African American MLB notables to lend their talents to a stirring video that dropped this week in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The video opens with Judge and Sabathia finish-

ing each other’s sentence, in- toning, “We’ve been told that our peaceful pleas were not made at the right time.” Fol- lowing their cameos, many of the league’s recent stars of
color, from Prince Fielder to Adam Jones to 2019 NYY fan favorite Cameron May- bin, continue delivering this unified statement in the wake of disastrous turmoil.
In many ways, Giancarlo Stanton delivers the video’s hammer, point blank stating, “Eight minutes and 46 sec- onds is enough time to lift a knee,” referencing the time Derek Chauvin took to kill George Floyd in the streets of Minneapolis, igniting this latest round of intense protests, conversation, and change.
Barkley Disagrees With Kyrie And Dwight Howard, Says It Would Be 'Stupid' For Players Not To Play
CHARLES BARKLEY
Charles Barkley thinks it would be a huge mistake for NBA players to sit out the sea- son out of fear that it would distract from the Black Lives Matter movement.
Brooklyn Nets' Kyrie Irv- ing and Lakers' Dwight Howard recently spoke out against the resumption of the NBA season because they be- lieve it would take attention away from the fight against racial injustices and police bru- tality.
But Barkley, an analyst for TNT, strongly disagrees with their perspective.
“I have no idea what Kyrie and Dwight are talking about,” Barkley said on ESPN’s Get Up. “But, it’ll be a catastrophic mistake not to play.”
Barkley said it would be- hoove players to take advan- tage of having millions of eyes on them, instead of fading away into the background.
“I think it would be stupid to not play,” Barkley said. “For two reasons: No. 1, if they don’t play, they’re going to be out of sight, out of mind for the rest of the year. There won’t be no cameras following [them].
Kevin Durant Jabs ‘Sell Out’ Kendrick Perkins Over Social Media
Kevin Durant still has some hard feelings towards Kendrick Perkins.
Perkins, a former NBA center and teammate of Du- rant, was on ESPN’s “Get Up” Wednesday to talk about the Kyrie Irving situation. Irving has been working against the NBA’s return to Orlando.
Perkins called Irving a “distraction” over the matter. Durant is Irving’s friend and Brooklyn Nets teammate. He called

Perkins a “sell out” in an In- stagram comment and retweeted a video of Perkins airballing a shot during his Oklahoma City Thunder play- ing days.
