Team Roc, the social justice arm of Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation, has demanded the immediate dismissal of charges brought against a protester in Charleston.
Earlier this month, a video surfaced of a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest in Charleston, South Carolina. In it, Givionne “Gee” Jor- dan, Jr. can be seen address- ing police officers with a plea for unity, until said officers approached the crowd and proceeded to pull him away and arrest him.
Jordan, Jr. was later re- leased on $465 bail, but faces a charge of “disobeying lawful order.”
The day after his arrest, a lawyer from Jay-Z’s Team Roc sent a letter to the city of

zBeyoncé And Jay-Z Sued For Allegedly Ripping Off Jamaican Dancer On
'Black Effect' Song
BEYONCE AND JAY-Z
Dr. L’Antoinette Stines, a Jamaican multi-hyphenate, has filed a lawsuit against Be- yoncé and Jay-Z for using her vocals on their song “Black Effect.”
According to CNN and TMZ, the veteran dancer/choreographer is suing The Carters for copy- right infringement and violat- ing her right of publicity over the cut from 2018’s EVERY- THING IS LOVE album, which received a perfect rat-
ing from HipHopDX. Stines, who is heard on the track’s opening speech, claims she was never given credit or compensation for her contri- bution to “Black Effect.”
She alleges Beyoncé and Hov asked her to record an interview about her views on love but said it would only be used for promotional pur- poses. After hearing her words used for the first minute of the song, she notes she felt “violated.”
