Lecrae Insists He 'Wasn't OK' With White Pastor's 'Blessing Of Slavery' Comments

    Lecrae faced an onslaught of criticism after he seemingly allowed white Atlanta pastor Louie Giglio to get away with essentially equating slavery to a “white blessing.” After en- during hours of negative com- ments on social media, the Christian-based rapper has is- sued a response.
On Tuesday (June 16), Lecrae shared a video to his Twitter account assuring his fans he “wasn’t OK with it.”
“Even as I sat there, I was very uncomfortable and I was
processing on like, ‘Man, what do I say in light of this?'” he ex- plained. “There’s been a lot times where as I’ve navigated white supremacy or racial in- justice where I just been tryin’ to figure out, you know, where I wanted to lash out honestly in anger.
“And there’s other moments where I’ve been like, ‘Alright God, give me the grace and the wisdom on how to deal with this. In that moment, I was processing like, ‘Man, what do I do?'”

  Black-ish and #blackAF cre- ator Kenya Barris and Phar- rell are in talks with Netflix, developing a feature-length musical about Juneteenth.
Details about it are scant, and according to Deadline, this project is separate from the Juneteenth stage musical they were said to be developing back in 2018. The project is said to be in very early development and details about the storyline are unknown.

D. L. Hughley posted a video on social media saying that he has been diagnosed with coronavirus and was being released from a Nashville hospital.
