Roger Goodell Weighs In On How League Will Judge Myles Garrett
ROGER GOODELL AND MYLES GARRETT
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell made his first public comments on Myles Gar- rett’s actions and suspension recently, and gave a glimpse of what it will take for the defen- sive lineman to be reinstated.
Goodell appeared on “Pre-Flight Playbook with Gary Myers” after Garrett’s indefinite suspension was an- nounced, and said the league would be looking at how re- morseful Garrett is when it comes time to consider his re- instatement.
Antonio Brown Hints Eagles Should Sign Him After Poor Offensive
ANTONIO BROWN
The Philadelphia Eagles looked horrendous on offense in Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots. A lot of that had to do with them going up against arguably the best de- fense in the NFL, but Philly is also hurting at wide receiver. Not surprisingly, Antonio Brown wants to help.
With DeSean Jackson on injured reserve and Alshon Jeffery battling an ankle in- jury, several Eagles fans took to Instagram on Sunday calling for the team to sign Brown. The seven-time Pro Bowler shared a bunch of the posts on his own IG story.
Brown is essentially in limbo at the moment. He met with NFL investigators last week to discuss the sexual as- sault allegations against him, but there has still been no indi- cation of when the NFL will make a ruling or how severe the disciplinary action might be.
LeBron James Becomes
On Monday, Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins wrote an op-ed in the Philadelphia In- quirer calling for a culture shift in the city’s police de- partment while urging Mayor Jim Kenney to impact “massive change” with his se- lection of the next police com- missioner.
Among the multiple crite- ria Jenkins laid out in his opinion piece was a call for “a commissioner who fights back against the police union.”
From Jenkins’ op-ed:
Nearly every time we hear a story of an officer abusing power, whether through vio- lence or racist Facebook post- ings, the police union is there to defend the bad behavior. We need a commissioner who
isn’t in lockstep with the union and who will instead push back when the union tries to hide and justify bad behavior.
Philadelphia police union president John McNesby responded with an attack on the Inquirer for publishing the commentary of a “washed-up football player” whom he likened to a drug dealer in a paper people use to “train their puppies.”
McNesby didn’t share these thoughts in private, with like-minded company only to see them leaked to the media. He published them for all to see on Tuesday on the Twitter page of the Philadelphia Fra- ternal Order of Police Lodge #5.
The “LeBron James Isn’t Done” Tour played on Tuesday night.
This time, the Oklahoma City Thunder fell victim as the Los Angeles Lakers recorded a 112-107 victory in Staples Center.
They also fell victim to a James triple-double for the first time ever. James recorded 25 points, 11 re- bounds and 10 assists as the Lakers improved to an NBA- best 12-2.
With that triple-double, James added to his growing

Errol Spence, Jr. Gets
Probation, No Jail
Time, For DWI Crash
Performance
Unified welterweight world titleholder Errol Spence, Jr. is getting off with a slap on the wrist.
Spence was intoxicated when he crashed his Ferrari at a high rate of speed in a one-car wreck on Oct. 10, and suffered some broken teeth and multiple facial lacera- tions.
According to court docu- ments obtained by Fight- Nights.com, Spence's case has already gone through the courts, and the 29-year-old has received probation.
Driving while intoxicated is a Class B misdemeanor in Dallas.
Spence, of the Dallas suburb Desoto, was not wear- ing a seatbelt when his car veered left over the center median into the southbound lanes before spinning, flip- ping, and ejecting Spence.

weeks prior to the wreck on Sept. 28, when he won a split decision against Shawn Porter to unify two 147- pound world titles in a pay- per-view main event at Staples Center in Los Angeles in an action-packed bout.
Spence is reportedly aiming to return to the ring in late March.
The original plan was for Spence to defend his titles against former two-division world champion Danny Garcia on Jan. 25.
