CrimeWoman Rams School Bus After
Last Member Of Violent Robbery Ring Sentenced
Dispute With Driver
A 34-year-old woman was ar- rested after she reportedly rammed a school bus with her vehicle. The incident took place around 2 p.m., on Tuesday near Early Run Lane and Herons Path Place, in Riverview.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Ms. Ashley Laquita Moore, is the maternal guardian and aunt of the child. When the bus reached the designed location, Ms. Moore allegedly refused the bus driver’s request to get out of her car to get the child from the bus. However, that is a re- quirement of the Hillsborough County School District.
The bus driver informed Ms. Moore that if she didn’t get out of the car, the child would be taken back to school. When the
bus driver began to pull away, Ms. Moore is al- leged to have pulled her car into its path of travel and struck the bus to prevent the driver from leaving.

Man Arrested For Attacking HART Bus Driver

Last week, a federal judge sentenced the final member of an 8 man team of armed rob- bers. The group was based in Polk County.
District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich sentenced Antonio Marquis Roddy, a.k.a. “Lil Head,” 32, of Apopka, to 25 years and 4 months in federal prison. He pleaded guilty on September 12, 2018, to conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, and using or carrying a firearm in further- ance of a violent crime.
According to court docu- ments, from at least May 2015 and continuing through July 20, 2017, Roddy, Marion Dwight, Jr., 31, Lakeland, and others committed several bur- glaries and armed robberies of local drug dealers.
The Federal Bureau of In- vestigations (FBI) has identified at least 14 armed robberies and 4 armed burglaries that were committed by Dwight and his co-conspirators. They dis- charged and brandished firearms during each of the rob- beries and burglaries.
In January 2016, Roddy and his co-conspirators, Michael James Baker, a.k.a. “Bake,” and Fredrick James Burney, Jr., a.k.a. “Frido,” forced their way inside a resi- dence in Kissimmee in search of narcotics and cash.
While inside, they held three women and three children at gunpoint and stated that, if the victims complied, no one would die.
Roddy and the others fled the scene and divided approxi- mately $95,000 in cash taken from the home among them- selves.
A few months later, in April 2016, Roddy and Burney at- tempted to rob a residence in Lakeland.
The victim, however, re- turned home during the course of the attempted robbery and a shootout took place.
Roddy and Burney fled, but not before Burney stole a firearm from the residence. Roddy was shot in the knee and was treated at a nearby hospital.
Other members of the ring were sentenced as following:
Bradney
McGary, 49
years, 2
months; Sher-
rod Gordon,
a.k.a. “Hott,

years; Michael Baker, a.k.a. “Bake, or Maserati,” 19 years, 6 months; Fredrick Burney, Jr., a.k.a., “Frido,” 30 years; Jevin Stone, 23 years, 5 months; and Shamar Thomas, a.k.a., “Baby,” 35 years.
There were no other chil- dren on the bus at the time of the
incident.
After reviewing the surveil-
lance video, police determined that Ms. Moore intentionally rammed the bus. She was later arrested and charged with aggra- vated assault with a motor vehi- cle and culpable negligence.
A HART Bus Driver is recov- ering from his injuries at a local hospital and a man accused of stabbing him has been arrested. The incident took place Tuesday.
According to Tampa Police, 65-year-old James Ambrose boarded the bus at N. 9th Street and E. Waters Avenue. He at- tempted to pay for his passage by placing bus fare into the cash payment machine next to where the unidentified driver was seated. Ambrose’s action caused a malfunction to occur with the cash payment machine and Ambrose is said to have be- come enraged.
Ambrose then attacked the driver with a red box cutter and can of mace. The victim suffered great bodily harm to his leg, po- lice said.
The driver’s leg was bleeding profusely and the other passen- gers felt the effects of the mace.
John Phelps, a Good Samaritan who was a passenger on the bus, observed Ambrose attacking the driver and made his way from the back. He pushed Ambrose back as Am- brose was still actively attacking the driver.
Phelps continued to keep his body between the other pas- sengers and Ambrose. At one point, police said, Ambrose lunged at Phelps with the box cutter before fleeing the scene.
Police arrived and located Ambrose at the intersection of
E. Juneau and N. Alaska Street. Police dis- covered that Ambrose had accidently, but severely cut his own leg and was bleeding. Am- brose is alleged to have sponta- neously said, “I’m going to prison for 15 years for this,” when confronted by the
police officers.
The victim required medical
care to save his life, which in- cluded emergency surgery to re- pair the damage to his leg. The driver is recovering in a local hospital.
Witnesses positively identi- fied Ambrose as the attacker and he was charged with aggra- vated battery with great bodily harm and deadly weapon.
