Youth Mentoring Group To Do Community Service Project
Legacy of Light Star Lights Youth Mentoring Group will be doing their community service project by doing a cleanup of the George Hod- gins Hall, located at 2401 N. Albany Street, on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 a. m. The mentoring group will be planting trees and plants around the lodge, as well as cleaning up unwanted debris around the lodge.
They are soliciting the assis- tance of the community with donations of mulch, plants, flowers, rakes, hoes, shovels, and manpower to complete this project.
Legacy of Light Star Lights mentoring group is sponsored by Lola Simon Chapter 33 Order of the Eastern Star. The mission of the mentoring group is to provide real life skills training experiences that will positively impact the lives, future, and growth of our youth.

The goal is to help build a healthy self-esteem in the youth in a non-competitive environment. The organiza- tion provides counseling, edu- cational outreach programs, and overall support and guid- ance to assist youth as they develop and mature as citi- zens and leaders.
The girls participate in com- munity involvement activities
as well as religious and civic activities. The youth have par- ticipated in many activities since organizing. They are preparing to attend their own convention in Jacksonville and participate in fun, critical thinking activities.
