Adrian Peterson Signs Deal With Saints
ADRIAN PETERSON
All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson has signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints after spending the first 10 years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings.
Saints coach Sean Payton said that Peterson would share backfield duties with running back Mark Ingram.
"I think the role will be very clear and defined," Payton told the Times-Picayune on Tuesday. "It's a tough, long 16-week season. I think that he's someone that certainly will be able to complement Mark. Those guys are differ- ent in some ways, and yet we feel like we've added another quality player.
Ingram said he had no problem with the idea of shar- ing the ball.
Ingram said he has fol- lowed Peterson since he was a freshman at Oklahoma and thatheisabigfanoftheAll- Pro.
CB Gareon Conley Accused Of
Reportedly Wins Auction To
Rape, Has Not Been Charged
Purchase Miami Marlins
NFL draft prospect Gareon Conley has been ac- cused of raping a woman in a Cleveland hotel, though no warrant has been issued and no charges have been filed.
The case is an open investi- gation within the Cleveland Division of Police Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit.
Conley, a former corner- back at Ohio State University, has been projected to be a po- tential top-10 pick in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday.
The group of buyers led by Derek Jeter and Jeb Bush has reportedly won the auc- tion to purchase the Miami Marlins.
Scott Soshnick of Bloomberg reported the auc- tion results.
The Marlins "are moving forward with the Jeb Bush/Jeter group and are optimistic deal will be reached for sale."
Jackson noted the sale price as $1.3 billion and added Bush would be the

controlling owner with Jeter having an "active role." Forbes estimated the Mar- lins' value at $940 million.
Gareon Conley has not been charged!
According to a police report, the incident took place early in the morning of April 9 at the Westin Hotel in downtown Cleveland.
Emotional DeMarcus Ware Officially Retires As Dallas Cowboy
Vince Young Working Out In Minicamp With CFL's Roughriders
Linebacker DeMarcus Ware officially retired on Sunday, and he did so as a member of the Dallas Cow- boys.
Ware appeared at a press conference with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, execu- tive Stephen Jones, and coach Jason Garrett, cap- ping off his career with the organization that drafted him.
Ware also admitted that, before he decided to retire, he did consider returning to Dallas.
The 34-year-old Ware, who spent the last three sea- sons with the Denver Bron- cos, called it a career this

offseason despite interest from other teams. He spent the first nine seasons of his career as a defensive stalwart for the Cowboys, so it only makes sense that he’d hang them up as a member of the organization.
Former NFL quarterback Vince Young took his first step on the comeback trail Tuesday, at a three-day mini- camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
Young, 33, hasn't played in an NFL regular-season game since 2011, but he's hoping to earn an invitation to the team's preseason camp. He has been learning the Roughriders' playbook and studying the CFL's style of play.
After practice Tuesday, the

former Texas star, Rose Bowl hero and two-time Pro Bowler with the Tennessee Titans said he felt great and would be ready for the final two days of minicamp.
NFL Teams Bothered By Jabrill Peppers Skipping Bowl Game
NFL teams were informed on Monday that Jabrill Pep- pers failed a drug test be- cause of a diluted sample, and it’s unclear how that will af- fect the former Michigan star’s draft stock.
According to one report, it won’t be the only thing coaches and executives are concerned about.
NFL teams don’t like the fact that Peppers sat out the Orange Bowl when Michigan took on Florida State back in December, which turned out to be a thrilling 33-32 win for the Seminoles. While photos appeared to show Peppers was dealing with a legitimate hamstring injury prior to the game, some folks at the pro level apparently feel he showed a lack of commitment to his team.
Of course, star running backs Christian McCaffrey and Leonard Fournette also opted to sit out their teams’ bowl games out of fear that they might suffer a seri-

ous injury.
NFL teams are bothered
that Peppers decided to sit out at the last second, whereas McCaffrey and Fournette notified their teams well in advance.
Some NFL coaches have openly said they disagree with star players skipping bowl games, but this seems unfair to Peppers. McCaffrey and Fournette have seen their draft stock surge over the past few weeks, and no one has made any mention of them abandoning their teammates in what would have been their final collegiate game.
