Every Song On Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN’Album Has Landed On Billboard Hot 100 Chart
Kendrick Lamar is hav- ing a good week.
His latest album, titled, DAMN, just opened up with the highest-selling first week of 2017 and he’s no more than two days removed from landing his highest-charting single to date.
Now, every single track on the album has landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Landing a few spots behind the No. 1 hit “Humble” is “DNA” at No. 4 on the chart, while the Rihanna-assisted “Loyalty” has landed in the top 15 (14). “Element” (16), “Love” (18), “Yah” (32), “XXX” (33), “Feel” (35),
Kendrick Lamar is #1 in sales and #1 on the charts.
“Pride” (37), “Lust” (42), “Fear” (50), “Blood” (54), “God” (58) and “Duckworth” (63) all land in the top 70.
There’s never an objective way to say “this album bumps,” but having your en- tire project chart on the Bill- board Hot 100 is the next best thing.
Monday (April 24), K-Dot unveiled the official dates for his forthcoming DAMN. tour, which will see D.R.A.M. and Travis Scott come along for the ride when it begins a 17- city trek on July 12.
The closest he comes to Tampa will be when he performs at the 2017 Rolling Loud Festival at Bayfront Park in Miami on May 5th-7th with Fu- ture and Lil Wayne.
‘Sleight Is The First Black Superhero Movie You Have To See; Opens Friday in Theaters
Judge Halts Release Of New Prince Music
Prince fans, unfortunately there’s no unreleased music to hear right now. Looks like Prince’s posthumous EP De- liverance won’t see the light of day after all.
Last Friday, it was reported that the six-track project cu- rated by the late singer’s long time sound engineer, Ian Box- ill would be released April 21st, the one-year anniversary of the passing of the music icon.
It was also reported that Prince’s estate was seeking to halt the project’s release, accus- ing Boxill of violating an agree- ment with Prince that stated all recordings he worked on with the artist would remain Prince’s “sole and exclusive” property.

the estate a restraining order to halt the project’s release until May 3rd when it expires.
On that day, a hearing is scheduled to continue the case. Boxill has now been ordered to turn over all recordings (esti- mated to be valued at $75,000) to Prince’s estate.
The EP has been removed from Apple Music, iTunes and Amazon Music.
Bo played by Jacob Latimore.
You don’t have to wait until Black Panther premieres next year to catch a Black superhero doing his thing, Sleight will hit theaters (today) Friday.
JD Dillard’s science-fiction film follows Bo (Jacob Lati- more), a young street magi- cian who is struggling to raise his younger sister Tina (A Wrinkle In Time‘s Storm Reid) on his own. During the day, he astounds audiences with his magic shows and at night; he finds himself dealing drugs for the volatile Angelo (Dulé Hill).
If Smart Guy grew up and met Black Panther, you would get Sleight’s, Bo.
Dillard said he got the idea for the astounding film from his own experiences as a nerdy child. He said at a recent screening, “It’s very important for people to see movies like this, especially for this genre it really means a lot for people to come see it. People [need] to see this representation. So much of Bo is pulled from my childhood because I was the Black nerd that was building computers and tearing apart televisions to create things.”
While Sleight might not have the bells and whistles of the films from the DC Comics or Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s certainly more relatable, espe- cially for young Black people who are still desperate to see representations of themselves on screen.
Sleight' Director/ Co-Writer J.D. Dillard's Journey From J.J. Abrams' Receptionist To Filmmaker
JD DILLARD
It’s not often that you find a sci-fi superhero movie filmed on a low budget — at least not one that makes it into the Sun- dance Film Festival. Sleight, was directed and co-written by J. D. Dillard. When it pre- miered at the festival in 2016, it was quickly snatched up by Blumhouse Productions, the company behind Jordan Peele’s hit, “Get Out.”
Dillard also co-wrote "Sleight" and is already work- ing on his next feature for Blumhouse. But before he left for his next project, he took some time to chat with The Frame host John Horn about his feature debut.
I was [once] an assistant pre- viously on the executive track at a television company. The leap to receptionist was a step- and-a-half backwards. While my income was drastically cut, the psychological income sky- rocketed. In being at the time an aspiring writer, the most im- portant thing was your own time. Even though I had just moved into an apartment and I was like, I'll obviously never make less money than this. And I very quickly proved my- self wrong, Bad Robot, I think, brought a lot of really incredi- ble things into my
