Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are currently investigating a murder that took place early Thursday.
This is the fourth murder investigation launched by the department in less than a week.

they discovered the body of
39-year-old Curtis Eugene Thomas, of Tampa. Thomas had suffered severe trauma to his upper body.
Police said the circum- stances surrounding the mur- der are unknown. However, they don’t believe this was a random act of violence. The investigation is continuing.

Police Search For Suspect In Cell Phone Theft
STOLEN PHONE SUSPECT
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is currently searching for a man who entered a store and fled with several cell phones. The theft took place on Monday.
According to police, at around 10:45 a.m., the sus- pect entered Boost Mobile, 3134 E. Hillsborough Avenue and acted as if he was inter- ested in purchasing a cell phone. The clerk showed him some of the merchandise and then went to assist another customer.
At that point, the suspect removed a HTC Bolt phone, 2 Kioteck Bluetooth speaker watches, and a Kioteck Blue- tooth shower speaker from behind the counter. He re- portedly hid the items under a bag under his arm and fled the scene.
He was observed leaving the parking lot in the direc- tion of E. 32nd Street, walking northbound.

Last Saturday morning, the Tampa Police Department responded to a shooting at a north Tampa home. Upon ar- rival, police discovered that a man had been shot.
Officers responded to the Tzadik Oaks Apartments, 1250 E. 113th Avenue, in refer- ence to the 9-1-1 call. When they arrived shortly before 4 a.m., they found the man suf- fering from gunshot wounds.
Police have identified the victim as Alex Noelssaint, 27, of Vero Beach. He was transported to Tampa General

Hospital as a trauma alert. He later died of his injuries.
Police said the active in- vestigation of the murder is continuing.
Suspects Use Stolen Credit Cards
Loaded Guns Found At Airport Checkpoints
Last week, an unidentified suspect broke into a vehicle parked in the 300 block of West Fern Street. The bur- glary took place overnight on April 17-18th.
During the burglary, the suspect fled the scene with several credit cards that were inside the vehicle. Since the theft, more than $2,000 have been charged on the victim’s cards, police said.
Recently, two men were captured on surveillance video using the stolen credit cards at several locations. Anyone with information leading to the identification

According to a Tampa In- ternational Airport spokesman, the Transporta- tion Security Administration discovered the weapons in separate incidents and all four of the guns were loaded.
The first gun, a Glock .45 caliber pistol was found in a passenger’s carry-on bag at 10 a.m. Two hours later, at noon, a Kel-Tec .380 was found in another passenger’s carry-on bag.
Police found the Glock .380 at 2:30 p.m., and two hours later, the fourth gun, a Ruger .380, was located.
Police were alerted in each of the incidents and the pas- sengers were escorted out of the checkpoint area by police.
Officials said guns can be transported in checked bag- gage as long as the airline is made aware.
The guns must be in a proper carrying case and can- not be loaded. However, guns cannot be transported in carry-on baggage.
Since the beginning of 2017, officials have discovered 34 firearms at security check- points. Last year, 70 were found.
Dispute Leads To Deadly Shooting
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigat- ing a fatal shooting that took place in Land O’ Lakes. The shooting occurred at a Winn Dixie parking lot Wednesday night.
According to police, the victim, identified as 52-year- old Bobby Jordan and the suspect, Jonathan Cobb, 39, knew each other. The two men were in the parking lot of a Winn Dixie on Hanson Road, in Land O’ Lakes, when they became engaged in a dispute.
At some point, Cobb is al- leged to have shot Jordan and fled the scene in a 2000 Red Dodge Ram 1500. The truck was later located a a Winn Dixie parking lot on Commer- cial Way, in Hernando County.

Cobb was located in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn, 30301 Cortez Boulevard, in Hernando County around 8 a.m. Thursday. He was charged with second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
