President Obama Condemns Shootings In Baton Rouge
Sec. Of State Kerry Blames
On Monday morning, President Obama made the following statement on the at- tack on law enforcement in Baton Rouge, LA:
"I condemn, in the strongest sense of the word, the attack on law enforcement in Baton Rouge. For the sec- ond time in two weeks, police officers who put their lives on the line for ours every day were doing their job when they were killed in a cowardly and reprehensible assault. These are attacks on public servants, on the rule of law, and on civi- lized society, and they have to stop.
"I’ve offered my full sup- port, and the full support of the federal government, to Governor Edwards, Mayor Holden, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Baton Rouge Police Department. And make no mistake – justice will be done.
"We may not yet know the motives for this attack, but I want to be clear: there is no justification for violence

Secretary of State John F. Kerry said Sunday that Obama administration offi- cials are doing “everything in our power” to fight terrorism, and he blamed Congress for failing to support more troops on the ground.
“[W]e are doing everything in our power to put additional pressure on them [the Islamic State], and I believe their days are numbered,” said Mr. Kerry on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Asked by CNN anchor Jake Tapper if administration offi- cials are really “doing every- thing you can,” Mr. Kerry pointed the finger at Congress, which is controlled by Republi- cans.
“A lot of people have talked about American troops going in, etc.,” Mr. Kerry said. “Congress displayed absolutely zero willingness to vote to do that, and if people have a will- ingness to show that now that

has changed, the administra- tion will listen to any legitimate plan, any legitimate way to do more.”
He defended the Obama ad- ministration’s efforts to combat the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, saying that “the pressure is mounting on a steady basis,” adding that the president wel- comes the input of others, in- cluding Congress.
against law enforcement. None. These attacks are the work of cowards who speak for no one. They right no wrongs. They advance no causes. The officers in Baton Rouge; the officers in Dallas – they were our fellow Americans, part of our community, part of our country, with people who loved and needed them, and

"Today, on the Lord’s day, all of us stand united in prayer with the people of Baton Rouge, with the police officers who’ve been wounded, and with the grieving families of the fallen. May God bless them all."

‘White Elevators’ Sign Spotted
At Republican National Convention
This year’s RNC may be a grand old segregated party which starts Monday through Thursday..
Republican National Con- vention organizers are scram- bling to replace signs labeling a bank of elevators the “white elevators.”
The Jim Crow-esque signs were seen in Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena, where thousands of Republican dele- gates, politicians and support- ers are expected to formally nominate bombastic busi- nessman Donald Trump as their party’s presidential pick this week.
Byron Tau, a Wall Street Journal reporter who first spotted the signs, said RNC staffers were replacing them “for obvious reasons.”
It’s unclear who vetted the signs or why they were hung in the first place. Neither RNC organizers nor Trump’s campaign immediately re-
sponded to the Daily News’ request for further comment. The “white” banners are
eerily similar to the signs that once kept America segre- gated: Everything from bath- rooms to restaurant entrances were labeled for “white” and “colored” use until segrega- tion was abolished in 1964.
Earlier this year, David Duke, a former grand wizard
of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, backed the real estate mogul, telling his white, big- oted followers that not voting for trump was “treason to your heritage.” Trump even- tually disavowed the endors- ment — but only after repeatedly refusing to, claim- ing he didn’t know anything about the white supremacist group.
